Is 4.61 only an interim release and which changes and features can we expect?

It's not version 5.0. because it doesn't provide neither the new contact manager nor the new mailstore as we didn't have enough time for testing since it became rather urgent to provide some overdue fixes. The other features announced on the developer news page will be available, though.
