4.61 crashes when "Use a custom header line" is activated/checked

    Hi,

I just installed 4.61 last week and am impressed with the new look. After writing a few replies, I have experienced about as many crashes, due, it seems, to the above option being activated. But, still stranger, this occurs only when upon creation of the reply an address is attached that includes a small image (company logo in JPG format). If the address is to be attached upon sending (options/outgoing mail/signatures), no address at all is attached, in fact.

In the meantime I have learned to get around the error by not including a custom header, which is not quite satisfactory though.

    Thanks for any assistance.

And I thought my tool wouldn't be required anymore, thanks for sending another description of how to duplicate it: It might be worth trying to figure out whether our latest beta version finally fixes this issue, please contact me directly (IERenderer's button menu provides a contact link in its About dialog). Anyway, you can find a tool for "fixing" this issue here (it's actually a workaround you need to apply whenever creating a new signature containing an image).

That did the trick Michael. I assume the problem is related to the binary format of the embedded image file. Could you provide a short explanation?

Anyway, thanks for the trouble and have a nice day!

Not really, It's some internal TER thing that I don't completely understand, I only know that inserting the whole image data in hex format instead of simply a file link works around it (after all it's RTF which is already extremely complex by itself (more than HTML IMO) so you better don't try to understand) ...
