    Pmail Ninja:
    TIC TOC TIC TOC ...

    We're approaching the first anniversary of DH's last and very long devnews article.
    His closing words: "I really do feel like there's light at the end now."
    To be a bit poetic: are these dimming lights the red ones from early sunrise or from developpers hell-fire?

    TIC TOC TIC TOC ...

    <WHOOPS!>
    Eh - this was a year ago...
    So, another year went over the rim.

    Now, You brave apologists of the PEGASUS MAIL PROGRAM, I'm feeling a little desperate.

    PMAIL 5.0 FAQ:
    =============
    Q: How many moore years must we wait to the sunrise of PEGASUS 5.0?
    A: So long it will takes.
    Q: How many Pmail users meanwhile have and will resign and go elsewhere?
    A: But the BRAVE 300 ( or 30 - after the last count) will stay!!
    Q: Why is there no OPEN LETTER of the beta-testers and co-workers and pmail adepts around the world to the Pmail master mind David Harris, that his so far proceeding towards a new Pmail 5.0 (and Mercury) will end up at the nowhere-place?
    A: Don't be skeptical! Don't bother the Great Maker!

    So far my bit cynical Q+A.

    What I now would love to see:
    a broad discussion in the community with intense participation of beta-testers and closer to DH operating longtime supporters, what the community could support, what the community could communicate to DH to push the development toward a projectable schedule to the release of the PEGASUS 5.0.

    I for one would suggest - and willingly pay - a symbolic amount of 50 bucks (EURO, US DOLLAR, whatsoever currency) for this release.

    Further proposals: I would suggest DH, that a 5.0 should adapt perfectly to WIN10 as even possible.
    WIN7 users (and WIN XP users if any alive) could stay with Pmail 4.73.
    And that DH should end up developing any further Pegasus (and Mercury) releases.
    And that he should then ONLY concentrate on bug solving and really minor user suggestions for improvement. Point.

    Really hope that helps (to discuss the case)

    Stefan  aka  PMAIL NINJA

    Re: Pegasus Mail Development and Version 5

    Hi everyone. Though I love Pegasus Mail and use it as my main reader, I would really want some small improvements, especially at attachment handling.

    1. I would want to better see attachments at the main window of opened mail: not only that they are, but a few icons and names of them and how many,
    2. I would like to directly open attachments but with original name and not random one (I would strongly suggest using Temporary attribute for such temporary file)
    3. Maybe open all of the attachments at once?
    4. after saving all attachments in one step I often want to delete all attachments in one step (because I've already saved them all to the folder and want to save space but still keep trace of correspondence)
    5. I see litttle problem with message width of a mail created with pmail - it sometimes doesn't work well with modern readers (esp. when message width is meddled)

    Regards to all and all thanks to David for his work

    Hi Julian,

    not that it would make a big difference in whether your wishes will come true, but there's a special forum for this kind of posts called Pegasus Mail Suggestions.

    I do not know what is currently the number of The Brave Ones but after 26 years of using Pegasus Mail and after 2 years of waiting in vain for Versions 5 I am about giving up. Sorry. I am not as brave as the PMail user should be...

    I would be interested in learning what exactly you are resp. were expecting from Pegasus Mail v5, i.e. what do you feel as the most pressing feature it's missing or issue to be fixed?
