    Re: ClamWall Howto

Did you install ClamAV as well? Clamwall is a daemon for Mercury to interface with ClamAV. Links to ClamAV and instructions can be found on the Clamwall homepage.

Check the Clamwall log file to find out what's happening if you want to test it.

    Re: ClamWall Howto

It seems Clamwall hasn't been able to get ClamAV running after all. Try starting ClamAV manually to see if you get any error messages. Check settings in the conf files (directory paths etc, see the Clamwall manual).

    Re: ClamWall Howto

Looks like ClamD was started, but apparently closed directly after. What ClamAv distribution are you using? If it's the one from hideout.ath.cx make sure you have the MSVC8SP1 runtime library installed. If not, you can get it either from Microsoft directly or also from the hideout.ath.cx page. Besides, as Rolf already suggested try starting clamd in a cmd window and look for the error message which you most probably get.

    Best regards,

    Nico

    Re: ClamWall Howto

    hi,

i have try to run ClamD manually and get one error message about missing daily-data files. After them i have run clamfresh, that loads this missing file.

after them clamd is running without any problems.

but shoutd mercury use an external daemon or its better if mercury run clamwv automaticially ?

I'd say it doesn't make much of a difference. ClamWall just runs ClamD/FreshClam with the --config-file= parameter, which points to the config file you have configured in ClamWall. This allows to run ClamD/FreshClam from a location which is different from c:\clamav but otherwise it's pretty much the same.

    Best regards,

    Nico
