Mercury v4.52 GUI not connected to daemon(s)

I'm not quite sure how to describe this and wasn't able to find anything with a cursory search.

I'm running Mercury v4.52 on an XP (sp3) machine.

There is one instance of Mercury showing in Windows "Task Mgr/Processes"

I have the Mercury GUI/Dialog open with sub-dialogs, Mercury Core Process and both STMP dialogs also open

Mercury has been busy sending out messages to our mailing list for the past hour and a half, but all sub-dislaogs have been idle and show no activity?

This cannot be normal! I understand this is not the most current version, but was part of a bundle, so I have been hesitant to upgrade it individually.

If this is a known issue and is addressed in the current version, I apologize for the unnecessary post.

I have not rebooted the server, since I would guess that will probably fix the current malfunction, but may make diagnostic more difficult. In case there's something you would like checked while it is still malfunctioning?!

    Thanks for your time!

Try restarting Mercury first and see if that helps, if not go for a reboot. I haven't heard of this problem with any version of Mercury, so I would suspect there is something else that has made Windows temporarily unstable. Make sure you have no anti-virus software running that could interfere with Mercury (at least queue directories, scratch directories and mailbox directories should be excluded from real time scanning).

You should update to 4.62 anyway, though. Make a backup first and select update when running the installer.

Mailing list activity is not shown clearly in the console logs so this could very well be normal. If your list is internal you will not see anything there. If you have MercuryE running and your lists are VERP enabled, you should see activity there for each message flowing out of your system.

As Rolf pointed out, you should upgrade from 4.5x to 4.62 as there are many fixes between the versions.

    Kind regards / Peter
