Move Pegasus address books from old computer to new computer

Pegasus latest version, XP computer  to Windows 7 computer on same network.

Have new Pegasus on old computer with XP and want to move my address books to new computer with Windows 7 operating system.

Please outline the steps I need to take to accomplish this task, specifically that is which files do I need to move/import and how.

I am a novice computer user in this realm.

Re: Move Pegasus address books from old computer to new computer

Each Addressbook is stored in the user home mailbox folder as a pair of files with the extension .PMR and .PM!.  You can copy these file pairs from the mailbox folder on the old installation to the mailbox folder on the new installation.

As for the most recently used address list, it exists as a file named WINPMFUA.PM and can be copied over as well.  This will require overwriting the existing file so you will need to decide whether that is what you want to do.

Whenever working with Pegasus Mail files be sure Pegasus Mail is closed.

To find out the location of the home mailbox folder use the Pegasus Mail Help menu, select About Pegasus Mail, click the Info button and look for the "home mailbox location" entry.

There is a valuable resource on Pegasus Mail filenames and extensions at:  http://www.vandenbogaerde.net/pegasusmail/pf_pmfiles.html

Unable to find on either computer the WINPMFUA.PM or any other file that begins with WINPM.  Was able to copy and move the seven pairs of .PMR and .PM! files.  Thank you for your help.

I presume it's not possible to have a systemwide addressbook accessible to all users in the same way that a distribution list can be common to all users.
