Presumably infinite loop of "Folder too large" messages

Happy 2016! I tried moving files from one folder into another and am getting "Folder too large" messages.

    * That's strange - how could files that fit in the old folder now make a brand new folder too big?

    * It seems to be an infinite loop; no matter how many times I hit enter or click with my mouse, a new window appears, which I'm attaching.

    What should I do? Thanks!

            Dilip

    P.S. I'm on Windows 7 64-bit.

Re: Presumably infinite loop of "Folder too large" messages

First you should try to copy just a few messages to the new folder. If that works try repeating to see how many messages can be transferred  before problems.

Before you start you should note how many messages the target folder already has, and note how many messages you are attempting to transfer.

There are limits to folder size and numbers of messages in a folder.

Thanks. But what do I do to stop the infinite loop? I ended up forcing a shutdown. I wonder if I should now try to bring Pegasus back up.
