I suspect the problem is here, but I keep running into undefined Javascript procedures when trying to do most things (like logging in) using Firefox 2.  The error consoleis saying that the procedure is undefined.  I finally had to use Internet Exploder (ick) which works fine.  Anyone else run into this?

It's not a common Firefox issue anyway, works without problems for me. Check if you have any special settings in Firefox relating to javascript or security that might block certain actions, or if there is any addon installed that might interfere. As always, it could also be that your anti-virus program is trying to overprotect you.

On the client side there is a bit of javascripting, f.ex. to make the editor work and as you mention logging in - validating reequired fields, etc.

Depending on what OS and client you have, a java script interpretor is invoked. Some time back there was a lawsuit agains MS from Sun, so they had to terminate the shipped java engine, and many clients had to install Suns java client. I'd recommend you to download their latest java client. It is sort of from the horses mouth to do so.

It's a mystery why they called it Javascript as it's not at all connected to Java (see for instance http://www.crockford.com/javascript/javascript.html). Still it's certainly a good idea to get the most recent Java environment from Sun for other purposes, but it will unfortunately not help with any Javascript problem.

Aha!  We have an answer.  At least a partial one.

I use the Junkbuster proxy to tunnel to the outside world.  Something in it is fouling up.  The last time I ran into a problem like that was about 3-4 years ago and I do a LOT of surfing, so I didn't even think of it until tonight.  I'm not sure exactly WHY there's a difference, but if I figure it out I'll let you know.
