    forum software

    Please update the forum software.

Uploading more than 1 picture doesn't work.

If i hit the preview button then i see an empty posting. The HTML button is useless because it added some tiny_mce stuff.

    Re: forum software

The community forum runs on commercial software, and parts of it is no longer compatible with some browsers. Updates are costly though and unless license fees and donations increase substantially there is unfortunately little chance of an update in the near future.

    Re: forum software

We have these problems since many, many, many versions of Iron/Chrome and Firefox. Maybe it is time to change to a free community software like phpBB or something else.

How many donations are needed for this update?

    Re: forum software

I use Firefox if I need special formatting in a post, and that still works. It hasn't ever worked in Chrome I think. If you check the price list at the Telligent site you will notice that the current pricing is rather steep. There is a free edition with limited functionality available, and at some point we may need to move to that or to some other reasonable alternative.

    Re: forum software

I see no pricing list at Telligent site and their community/blog part seems to be offline for maintenance. Perhaps this is a sign?

Anyway, when this site has problems with some browsers then i would be a good idea to inform the user about it. We have 2017 in a few days and no user anywhere will install an extra software only for one site. There are faster and more up-to-date browsers with a bigger userbase now.

PS: I have no problem with donations for Mercury. I made some donations in the past and i will do this on a nonregular basis again.
