Pegasus Mail & Mercury

I got an error message for my Main Folder, but, if I try to reindex it as suggested, it says I can't, as it's open. If I move all the mail init to another folder, then try to delete the empty folder, it says I can't because it's open. How do I close it?

First do a property click on the folder to get the folder name(aaaaaa.pmm and index aaaaa.pmi).

Then shutdown Pegasus Mail and use Windows Explorer etc to delete them both. You can then recreate the folder, BUT any rules will have to be re-established as Pegasus Mail uses the internal names for folders etc

Your folder may be open and minimized. In my setup minimized folders are shown at bottom-most of Pmail main window but it may also be set out window borders. If you select Window > Cascade from the menu your folder will be made visible and so you can close it. If Pegasus Mail is closed with one or more open folders they will be re-opened at Pegasus Mail next session.

And yes, you can't re-index, nor delete a folder when it is open.

Consider creating the new Main folder by using the default copy stored in PMAIL\PROGRAMS\DEFAULTS (MAIN.PMM and MAIN.PMI).  You will still need to rework any rules the used the Main folder and point them to the new Main folder.
