writing a new post: how to "paragraph"

I wonder how you all write your postings with paragraphs. (RETURN) (RETURN for empty line) this sentence should be after an empty line, but it is not.(RETURN) (RETURN for empty line) while I am typing there is no problem with starting a new paragraph, but as soon as I check the posting by clicking the "preview"-link all my "returns" are gone and my text is one big sausage.(RETURN) (RETURN for empty line) this makes me mad; any suggestions what is going on?

Re: writing a new post: how to "paragraph"

You have to use the Standard or Enhanced Editor. The Plain Text Editor generates no line breaks or new paragraphs.

so, as shown above this has nothing to do with the editor-settings. I still can not write "beautified" text .... :(

Re: writing a new post: how to "paragraph"

now switched from opera 8.52 to opera 9.24

I now see the toolbar for enhancing the text! :)

so the problem seems related with opera 8.52

A number of the 'features' of this site never worked for me while using Firefox.

I now only access it using MSIE.  I never tried it with Opera, but it could be a similar problem.

Re: writing a new post: how to "paragraph"

I tested the site at release time with current versions of Opera 9, Firefox 2. IE 6 and 7, and my PDA. The PDA did a worse job than I guess good ol Mosaic would have - but all the rest worked perfectly besides one glitch:

If you surf the site a lot, then register and want to post - you won't get posting buttons - the problem for this is referring to the browser setting of (don't know the english setting name) automatic new page check. So to get this to work perfectly, one needs to flush the temp-cache.

It might be the same problem, when switching back and forth between different editor-choices.

    Kind regards / Peter

Re: writing a new post: how to "paragraph"

okay, to sum it up the problem is related to

    - choice of browser (version). some work, some half-way, some won't.

    - state of browser-cache. emptying helps.

    problem "solved".Hmm
