    Feature request for folders

    Hi all !

I am looking forward to welcome the last version of Pegasus Mail, and since it is in the beta phase, maybe it is not too late to make a suggestion. This one concerns the folders within the trays, would that be possible to choose their color ? It could provide us with a handy tool of organization and classification, not to mention visibility. I hope my suggestion will catch the attention of the community.

    Cheers !

    Ginhead.

You mean you want to have 3 colours for each folder:

    - No unread messages (default)

    - Contains unread messages

    - Contains recent unread messages

You know you can change the default colours Pegasus Mail uses (for all folders now) in Tools -> Options -> Incoming Mail -> Folder behaviours.

    Hi Han !

No, I was talking about the folder's icon, not the text next to it. Of course, the three colors choice already in Pegasus for the text next to the icon is very helpful, but the ability to color the icon would be, in my opinion, a great addition. Also, could we have more colors to choose, the present number is a bit limited ?

    Cheers !

    Re: Feature request for folders

As an addition, I would like to be able to

    • select any combination of colour, bold, italic to indicate folder state
    • also apply these settings to trays, not just folders

BTW, the bold option for unread messages (or is it recent unread?) has no effect. Is that a bug, or is it just me?

    Cheers,

    Erik

That setting works here for unread mail - both in classic and preview modes.  What font have you set for the message list window?

It works on both, depending on the setting in Tools -> Options -> Folder behaviors.

It doesn't work when you have set to use bold in the font menu option.

Bold for unread mail not working [was Re: Feature request for folders]

The List of folders uses MS Sans Serif 13. I changed that to Arial 14, to no avail. (The List of messages uses Arial 14.) In the Tools |  Options... | Incoming mail | Folder behaviours page I have checked both Use bold to emphasize checkboxes.

Folder names are displayed in bold when new mail arrives or is moved there by my WINRULES. Still, the moment I preview a folder its name becomes non-bold, whether I read any mail or not. The colour is the one I have specified, only the bold part is gone missing.

    Any suggestion would be welcome!

That sounds to me like the way it is designed to work.

That's how it is designed. Perhaps not what you expected, but this it how it works. Open or preview a folder and at that moment the situation is that all mail is in the folder and is seen hence there is no longer unseen new mail in that folder. It will turn bold when new messages arrive in the folder after you have seen it.

[Apologies for kidnapping and polluting this thread]

Ok, have I understood this right? To summarize:

    1. The Tools |  Options... | Incoming mail | Folder behaviours dialog has settings that control folder colouring and visual cues
    2. Two settings control text colour:  (a) Folders with unread mail        (b) Folders with recent unread mail
    3. Two settings control bold text:     (a) New mail                              (b) Folders with recent mail
    4. So, assuming recent mail is always unread(?), the names of folders with ...
    5. ...recent unread mail        are displayed in colour 2b and bold type if selected by 3b
    6. ...non-recent unread mail are displayed in colour 2a and always non-bold type
    7. Setting 3a only controls how emails are displayed in the list view. It has no effect on the folder name whatsoever

If I got it right this time then it's a little clearer to me where I went wrong.

If I didn't get it right please help by explaining.

    Erik
