company name change

    company name change

    Our company name is changing  - as is the domain name.  We are using Mercury/32 v4.5 as out mail server and Pegasus as the e-mail client on Windows XP pro

     I would like to know the best way to:

    1) Keep getting mail (for the time being) at the old domain based addresses (ie mymail@old_domain.com)

    2) start getting mail from the new domain based addresses (ie mymail@new_domain.com)

     What I've read so far seems to suggest using aliases - but I'm not entirely sure I'm looking at this correctly.

    Mercury can receive mails for several domains. As long as the user part of the address is the same you won't need any aliases. Just point the MX record for the new domain to the Mercury server, and add the new domain in Core configuration, Local domains.

    You will also need to get your users to change their FROM address in their clients.

    Yeah, I was ready for that part (tedious, but not really difficult).
