Martin Truckenbrodt:
Hello Paul,
I know what backscatting means. But I haven't started this topic here for a philosophic discussion. ;)
I have a technical problem. I have problems to define a list of valid local e-mail addresses and to use it with a global filter rule.
I've added a mailing list (mlf file).
I've added a global rule with ...

Hello,
my mercury insctance is running for a long time in test enviroment by now. Now I want to finish configuration and to go live.
Long time ago I've configured Mercury to deliver all e-mails to one folder. I want to keep this. But I want to have a list of valid e-mail addresses. And for non-valid e-mail addresses I ...

The version is the latest download 4.62, Aug 11 2011, build 191.
The latest version is 4.63 from Jan 2012. It is a good idea to use the latest - download from here:

Hello, I wish to purchase a license for my company to use this software, the registration pages appear a bit lacking. Possibly out of date or down? Ive seen links on google for emailing David Harris, but I'm not sure if its still a good email. I look forward to a response.

Good :)
Even the content of my virus scanners result file gets copied into the Policy Exception Advice email that I receive from Mercury.
Just some other thing: The ''Message sender'' field within that mail is empty. I checked the ...

bfluet:To answer your question, you can control whether the alias or the email address gets added from an addressbook. It's the ''Apply the e-mail address instead of the alias'' setting located in addressbook properties.
Strange, but that checkbox makes no difference for me when adding entries into a distribution list - I always get ...

Thank you Brian and Paul. I will check for the virprot plugin.
We have a commercial licensed virus checker by Avira company. I like to use this also for email checking. My batchfile is similar to:

I'm surprised you don't think the setting change will be helpful. In your related post you expressed frustration in this statement: ''Even more confusing, when building a distribution list by selecting the entries from an address book, the alias name is what is stored.''. The alias is what is stored because you have it ...

I'm sorry, my numbers were wrong - 7 addresses in the list, only 5 emails received.
Here's what my list looks like (names are changed, domains are real)

I sent a test mail to that list from ...
