• Inconsistent empty folder

I am trying to understand a problem that occurred yesterday on a friend's computer: Pegasus reported an inconsistency of the main folder. I could reindex it open it etc. But the inconsistency reappeared. I moved all mails to a different folder. But Pegasus still complained about the inconsisteny of the supposedly empty folder (which still ...

  • Re: use IMAP like POP3

Wow! Thanks a lot. My mistake: I have to get used to IMAP. Apparently I looked at the mails in Thunderbird and assumed that Thunderbird would mark them as read just privately. But instead it seems they were marked as read on the server. Pegasus honours the flag and downloads unread messages as unread and read messages as read. Oskar

  • Re: use IMAP like POP3

Thanks for the helpful comments. I prefer not to keep my mail online. Of those handful of mailservers only one stopped to support POP3 - so far. I set up a rule to download all mail from this server to Pegasus' new mail folder. Starting this rule manually is a bit of a nuisance but ok. Unfortunately in the process all mail becomes marked as ...

  • Re: use IMAP like POP3

It might. But my understanding is that this option does the opposite of what I want to achieve - haven't tried it, though. I want to keep the new mail folder local and download (and delete on server) all mail while this option seems to put the new mail folder on the server.

  • use IMAP like POP3

Hi, if there is already a thread concerning this issue, I apologize. I didn't find any. One (university) mailserver discontinues the POP3 protocol. Is there a way to autmatically download all new mail from the INBOX of the IMAP mailserver to the ''New mail'' folder of Pegasus? Oskar

  • Re: AW: Filter only when read

Wow! Thanks a lot! I thought that a rule-set was exited after a rule was triggered. Flow control was therefore completely beyond my horizon. I guess there is a choice for the attribute rule between ''call ...'' at the beginning or ''goto ...'' at the end of the regular list. Presently it is a ''call'' at the beginning. Bye Oskar

  • Re: Address Bug was "Who gets the reply?"

As far as I understand RFC2047 there is no need to worry about the comma (=2C) in the encoded word. I.e. as I understand it ''Lastname, Firstname'' <jxyz@abc.com> and =?iso-8859-1?Q?Lastname=2C_Firstname?= <jxyz@abc.com> are legal addresses with the same recipient. But Pegasus transforms the latter from field to the reply ...

  • Re: Address Bug was "Who gets the reply?"

I always use reply with option. The sender does not provide a reply address ( there is a field ''Return Path: <email address>'' but I can't choose that in Pegasus as destination for the reply). Therefore, the reply goes to the ''From'' field (regardless of whether it is checked or not). I started a new thread because my curiosity about ...

  • Address Bug was "Who gets the reply?"

I am no expert on email adresses and don't know how email programs are supposed to handle ''encrypted words''. However: The FROM field reads =?iso-8859-1?Q?L=F6stname=2C_Firstname?= <email address> and Pegasus replies to =?iso-8859-1?Q?L=F6stname?=, Firstname <email address> This is probably not as it should be.

  • Re: Who gets the reply?

idw: vdhagen:From: =?iso-8859-1?Q?L=F6stname=2C_Firstname?= <firstname.loestname@...> Which is in fact broken and not related to the umlaut in any kind: The reason for the failure is missing double quotes around the real name so it would look like this, e.g.: From: =?iso-8859-1?Q?=22L=F6stname=2C_Firstname=22?= ...
