• Re: Lots of .dmp files. Why? Value?

An associate of mine helped to expose this .dmp file content (similar content it multiple .dmp files): Exception code 0xC0000005 The thread tried to read from or write to a virtual address for which it does not have the appropriate access. Unhandled exception at 0x001A03BB (mercury.exe) in 181024-100247.dmp (interesting that this is the ...

  • Re: Lots of .dmp files. Why? Value?

I attempted to read one of the .dmp files but need a symbol file (.pdb). Is it available? Please let me know if it is unlikely that I would know what I was looking at even I had the symbol file (I'm a user, not a coder).

  • Re: Attachment downloads

Here are my notes on the subject attachment file types (both outbound and inbound): Quoted from the Pegasus Mail manual:FILETYPE.PM - Pegasus Mail uses this file to work out what attachment type it should associate with a given file. It is used when ''Mailer decides'' is chosen as the attachment type in the Attachments view of the Message ...

  • Re: AW: Re: Lots of .dmp files. Why? Value?

Joerg:But the daily maintenance task should not be an unexpected termination, isn't it? That's what I would have thought but many of the zero byte .dmp files are time stamped at this time. Joerg:We never used the daily maintenance because I have to restart our Windows Server anyhow at least once a month during MS update day. The other times ...

  • Re: Lots of .dmp files. Why? Value?

Thanks Rolf. I don't have Visual Studio so will study the frequency a bit more for clues and to try to get a sense of whether there is cause for alarm. Is there an explanation for the ones that are zero byte sized? There is a number of those.

  • Lots of .dmp files. Why? Value?

Hi All, Would someone please explain .dmp files? I have a significant number (at least one per month, sometimes several) They're not readable with a text editor so I don't know their content or valueI don't know what is causing their creation but the time stamp of a small percentage of them corresponds with the daily maintenance taskTIA!

  • Re: Does 2GB file size limit affect non-PMail clients?

Here's an interesting question. Consider someone running Mercury with its IMAP module providing access to the mailboxes by non-PMail clients. One of the folder files hits the 2 GB limit and can not be accessed. A known solution is to use the Pegasus Mail Notsplit utility to generate message files from the .PMM for re-integration ...

  • Does 2GB file size limit affect non-PMail clients?

We know about the 2GB file size limitation of folder files (.PMM files) from a Pegasus Mail standpoint but does this limit exist when access is via MercuryI by non-Pmail clients?

  • Re: NotSplit V8 available

Martin, I don't know what version of NotSplit I have at the office but I've always copied the NotSplit executable and the target .PMM file to the same directory then ran it. Are you saying this will no longer work with v7+? BTW, thanks for putting the extracted .cnm files in a \notsplit subdirectory (this tidbit was posted on the PMAIL ...

  • ClamAV 0.101.1 Patch has been released

ClamAV 0.101.1 Patch has been released. This version fixes a header problem for developers. It doesn't appear important to us but I expect we'll soon start seeing 'version out of date' entries in the log. https://blog.clamav.net/2019/01/clamav-01011-patch-has-been-released.html
