• Re: not being seen?

Perhaps the process that would read that key does not have permission to do so. It would be worth checking the security permissions of the key on the W7 and W10 computers. And, if you can be bothered, run Process Monitor on the W10 PC and see what happens when you access the attachment - you should be able to see if the access to the key is ...

  • Re: not being seen?

We see doc files classified as zip files, but they always open in MS-Word. A couple of times Pegasus Mail has refused to open PDF's because it does not know how to, but that has been caused by the file extension association being blitzed. Resetting it fixed it.

  • Re: No longer downloading mail

Are you able to log in using a browser and check your mail? That way you can discover if there are any corrupted or huge messages present.

  • Re: A Significant issue involving EHLO []

On the General tab of the SMTP module you should have the relaying controls checked. On the Compliance tab edit the transaction file and add the line H, ''**'', R, ''554'' See how that works. Do you use a mail filtering service? If so, you can add a line that will only accept connections from that filtering service's ...

  • Re: How is a message delivered when To: header is missing?

Brian Fluet:... Some of them are ''blind link clickers'' and ''mindless attachment openers'' so if I see a message that is of concern malware-wise I want to get it out of other mailboxes as soon as possible. ... Brian I have to give security awareness training sessions where I work which educates staff so they can look for the tell-tale signs ...

  • Re: How is a message delivered when To: header is missing?

As said, it's the envelope that contains the sender/recipient data and this stripped off from the normal view. As you say, the RAW view gives you the envelope to: header, but where this may be a blind cc I don't think the recipient address is always included. I have to admit that my understanding of how this works is muddied at best. You can see ...

Christopher Muñoz:Most interesting and worthwhile reference, Greenman. The quality of thorough and thoughtful comment I would have expected from the guys at Winternals in the old days, or from Steve Gibson, perhaps. I was a long time user of Executive Software products, before they became Diskeeper Corporation, then eventually ...

  • Re: Moving emails gets extremely slow

Two things: Firstly, I have found that having the destination folder open can sometimes speed up moving messages between folders. Secondly, regarding fragmentation: while it is not recommended to defrag SSD drives, there are technologies available that deal with the source of the fragmentation = the Windows file system. Diskeeper manages the I/O ...

  • Re: Spamhalter - Difference between "Excluding" and "Whitelisting"

geby:Exactly! PaulW is right!''Excluded'' messages are ignored. ''Whitelisted'' mesages are processed as ''not-spam''. It is opposite to ''blacklisted'' messages. (handled as ''spam''.) Spamhalter have automatic whitelist and blacklist, updated by your corrections and by your outgoing messages. Rest messages are classified by bayesian ...

  • Re: Donations without PayPal?

Albert: Brian Fluet:That button takes you to a guest checkout page. Thanks, Brian, for your reply. I too thought it would go that way - there is a CC checkout button available. But, after clicking that button, when I am on the form where I enter my CC data, there are also (mandatory) fields below asking for my address, phone number, passport ...
