• Re: Public image

My post was placed on the Pegasus and Mercury forum home page, under the section 'About this site' under the heading 'Site Feedback'. That seemed a very appropiate place to gove feedback about this site. That said, much the same comments apply to many pages of the Pegasus/Mercury website. So, where I put my comment is somewhat ...

  • help files

I find that the various help links from the help menu do not work for me. I have downloaded a new version of 4.73 and updated my installation, but no joy. All I get is a duplicate Pegasus window. I'm sure I used to get the help files, so what has happened. I'm using Vista Business. Regards, Philip Jones

I have been an enthusiastic user of PMAIL for 20 years or so, and I hope it will continue. It is disappointing to log into this support site and find that on the Home page, the latest version of PMAIL is shown as 4.70 - several years out of date, and the download links seem to connect to a page where the latest version is 4.63 added in ...

  • Re: junk and suspicious mail

Brian Fluet says 'As for disabling the ''Apply filtering rules when previewing folders'' option, I repeat with emphasis that this only applies when previewing the folder. Messages will be processed through filters when the folder is opened.' Maybe we have 'folder' and 'tray' muddled. I repeat with emphasis that I have no filters ...

  • Re: junk and suspicious mail

I will add that on the newest computer where I just met this problem, it was a new installation, not a transfer from another computer. A right click on the New Mail folder shows a menu with autofiltering as the third option, and under that Autofiltering is shown to be 'configured'. I wonder what that means and how you configure ...

  • Re: junk and suspicious mail

Thanks for the responses. I was not correct in saying the junk folder disappears. In fact, I emptied it, then deleted it. However, before my fix explained previously, some filtering mechanism continued to work which recreated the folder then moved about 2/3 of my new mail into it. If I moved it back to the New Mail folder, the ...

  • Re: junk and suspicious mail

Thanks Brian, but as I said, I have disabled spamhalter and have no rule based filters listed as being in operation. The solution, and I think the explanation, is a lot simpler. Go to tools/options/incoming mail/preview mode settings, and in the dialogue box, disable 'Apply filtering rules when previewing folders' The junk mail folder ...

  • junk and suspicious mail

I do not need the 'junk and suspicious mail' folder, and had somehow deleted it on my old computer (w. Vista and Pmail 4.73) and done something, many years ago, that prevented it from reappearing. I installed PMAIL fresh on a new computer (W.10, Pmail 4.73), and see that I have such a folder, and most of my mail is diverted into it, even ...

  • Re: No IMAP mail folder etc

Thanks caisson for response. I reinstalled Pegasus and it started working immediately. Perhaps that is the first thing to do when there is a problem, though I do not know how the Pegasus program files (and it has happened with other programs too) should become damaged. No doubt theories in answer to that are manifold, so I'm just ...

  • No IMAP mail folder etc

I have to switch to IMAP courtesy of UK2. I followed the set up procedure for IMAP without SSL through the Tools/IMAP menu carefully using the settings provided byUK2: Server/Hostname/Address: chimail.uk2.net Username and password as confirmed by them UK2 suggest using outgoing ports 587, 8025 Is this important ? ...
