• Re: Filtering out phishing emails

Help me here. (I am not a programmer or computer geek, so need to beg your indulgence). The Whitelist is automatically populated only when you send a message TO somebody. So the spoofed addresses in the emails will not be reflected in the Whitelist, and will be passed on through to the Spamhalter filter. This is unable to ...

  • Re: Filtering out phishing emails

I am not sure you are on the same wavelengths. When the previous poster said he wasn't sure ''what the purpose was'', he wasn't questioning the purpose of the whitelist. What he was asking was what the purpose of the ''List'' option in the Filter Rules was. (It refers only to the distribution lists - why?) Just for what it is ...

  • Re: Filtering out phishing emails

Neat! I have tried this by creating a distribution list copied from my whitelist, then created a Scan List rule to move any messages with from (or to - and this may or may not cause problems) NOT in the list, into a folder marked Phishing. I will report back as to what actually happens. (And, yes, I appreciate that the ...

  • Filtering out phishing emails

I am getting a deluge of emails with ''from'' addresses consisting of slightly altered names of people with whom I have exchanged emails in the past, and spoofed headers. They have links, which vary with each and every message. Spamhalter has been completely unable to recognise these, (hardly surprising, given that there are no ...

  • Re: Disappearance of folders

Absolutely brilliant! Fixed it perfectly. And, probably more important, I understand exactly how it all works, (and why some folders disappeared). Thank you so much.

  • Disappearance of folders

I am running Pegasus 4.72.572, on Win-7. The latest Windows dot-net and security update in Windows failed to load a week or so ago, but did load today. BUT.. since this last update my Pegasus has become corrupted. (May be chance occurrence, or may be related) I had a number of filing trays, with individual message folders ...

  • Graphics and HTML

I am an unsophisticated old man, with only a hazy idea of email protocols. So be patient with me... I have used Pegasus for decades, as a POP-3 client. When my university abandoned their own mail system and subscribed to M-S 360, they discontinued POP-3 support entirely. (They have only IMAP.) I do not want my mail stored ...

  • Crash on opening

Sudden problem developed yesterday afternoon, with no apparent reason. Running PM 4.5, with both regular filtering and Spamhalter enabled, in Win-7. When I opened PM in the afternoon, I got only a partial screen paint, (only New Mail folder listed on left, most of screen below blank), with a message in bottom left saying ''Applying ...

  • Re: Odd characters appearing when creating message

I am less willing to accept your suggestion that Pegasus has nothing to do with either this or the other issue I identified in a separate post, (sudden loss of all carriage returns, resulting in the message I am typing being re-formatted into one great long line.) When Pegasus suddenly drops into an alternate keyboard layout it is not ...

  • Re: Sudden loss of line breaks

The issue is not whether Ctl-J reformats the text, (it does), but, rather, what is causing the sudden loss of formatting in the beginning. It is not triggered by backspacing. It happens while I am typing (two finger, and not very accurately hitting keys, so you are correct that it probably has something to do with my typing). But ...
