• Re: Checking "Envelope-to:" field instead of "To:"; Duplicate messages;

    Paul, thans for a quick reply. Yes, these messages do have ''Envelope-To:'' fields, as explained above. In the meantime I explored more and few minutes ago I just found the same section you mentioned and I learned that I actually do use ''Optional special header processing'' and that corresponding field is filled with exactly ''Envelope-to''. ...

  • Re: Checking "Envelope-to:" field instead of "To:"; Duplicate messages;

    Here is some additional info from Mercury v4.51 manual ''The MercuryD POP3 Client Module / Using MercuryD with Domain Mailboxes'' from page 80: Local user: If you enter the name of a local user on your system (one to which Mercury candelivery directly) then all the mail downloaded from the remote account will be sent to thatlocal user, ...

  • Checking "Envelope-to:" field instead of "To:"; Duplicate messages;

    Several months ago (probably a year) my email server (Mercury/32 v4.74) started delivering duplicate messages to local users, but that applies only to messages from some particular domains. Actually it started duplicating emails sent form some companies and with other companies everything works fine. So, if a message is sent from such company to ...

  • Re: Mail filtering based on content of ZIP files (EXE in ZIP)

    Hi Giorgio, I agree that we should not automatically dump all ZIP files that contain executables, because some small percentage of all occurances might come from regular users trying to send regular programs via email. Therefore I do forward all ZIP-EXE messages to administrator. You can find parameter ''Admin'' at the end of my TASKS.MER ...

  • Re: Mail filtering based on content of ZIP files (EXE in ZIP)

    jbanks, sorry for late reply. Yes of course it is a typographic mistake, thanks for suggestion. I looked several times trying to catch what you were pointing to and finally I got it: should be MERCURY instead of MERCYRY. In the mean time I have made a small modification to TASKS.MER, adding double-quote signs around ~F parameter, which will ...

  • Mail filtering based on content of ZIP files (EXE in ZIP)

    Hi all, I think it would be usefull to be able to filter emails which have EXE file in ZIP attachments. Currently I don't see automatic option to do that within Mercury server so I made a batch file which does the job using Policies: Content of file TASKS.MER: (add the last ''Task:'' line to your TASKS.MER) ## Mercury/32 policy task list ...

  • Re: Timeout after end of SMTP data lines and ".<cr><lf>"

    >> You suggested also that I ''might simply want to turn off the MTU Discovery operation''. I have no idea where (PC or ADSL modem/router)>> and how to do that. ... >>You turn it off in the registry of the sending system. The TCP Optimizer utility has the ability to set this for you my selecting the ''Custom'' options. I ...

    Dear Thomas, Many thanks for these suggestions. I will comment my configuration first: Mercury server is installed on PC with Asus A7V8X-X mainboard: VIA KT400 NorthbridgeVIA VT8235 SouthbridgeVIA Rhine II Fast Ethernet Adapter (Realtek 10/100 Mbps Ethernet PHY)So, ''NVidia NForce 4'' is not used, I think that's for sure. • Timeout after end of SMTP data lines and ".<cr><lf>"

    Hi everybody, I use Mercury v4.72. For several months I do experience following problem when delivering emails to somebody@yahoo.com, using MercuryE SMTP client: - When a message is larger then 2 MB, after MercuryE finishes SMTP data lines with ''.<cr><lf>'', Yahoo SMTP server do not respond with ''250 Ok'' within reasonable time ...
