Pegasus HLP files not running under Windows 7

I am installing Pegasus 4.52 under Windows 7 on a new machine. I have downloaded winhlp32.exe; it went to c:\windows\.

Clicking on the Pegasus "setup info" still produces the Windows warning "Why can't I get Help from this program?".

How can I get the setup info file to run?

Issues with Pegasus 4.52

Since upgrading to version 4.52 of Pegasus Mail I have discovered a number of issues that I believe are bugs.

I am runing Windows 7 (hence the upgrade) and have multiple users configured within Pegasus.

1. I do NOT install Pegasus in the default location of C:\Pmail rather I have Pegasus installed in U:\Pmail. The U: drive is a virtual drive created by PGP so that its contents are encrypted in the event of the laptop being stolen or lost.

This configuration worked fine previously.

Now I find the following:

Regardless of where I tell the installer to locate Pmail, the mailboxes are still located at C:\Pmail\Mail I can manually change that using pconfig.exe but then I find that clicking on a mailto link generates an error within WSENDTO that it "Could not communicate with Pegasus Mail" The mailto links work fine if I leave the mailboxes on the C: drive.

2. Previously I was able to drag and drop attachments into the file attachment window when creating a new message. Since the upgrade this no longer works. I have to go through the Add Attachment button and follow the prompts.

Any thoughts?

4.52 crashes constantly, now completely dead. What to do next?

I updated to the Win7-compatible version recently, and since then Pmail's been crashing a few times a day, always when opening a message. Today, during a search, it crashed again, and now won't restart. It goes through the motions but, when 'opening new mail folder' it crashes again. I reinstalled the program to no avail, and I rebooted in the hopes it would help, but no go.

So I've reinstalled Pmail again, in the hopes or importing the old mail, but... How do I do that? Is there a better plan? I'm really, really kind of screwed at work without my email.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
