  • Re: Which PGP version?

Do you know if any of these (PGP plug-in for Pegasus Mail with current Symantec PGP version, or qdpgp) work on Linux under wine?

  • Linux and WINE and Multi-user mode

Hello I have Pegasus 4.63 installed on a windows server in multi-user mode.  Normally a windows client runs the Pegasus executable where it's installed on a shared network drive and identifies themselves with their username (via a command line argument).  I'm currently trying to do the same from a linux client, but not matter what ...

  • Re: moving messages over from old machine to new when basic installation has changed

Hi, Brian, Thanks very much for the notes there. With the help of Dirk Van Den Bogaerde's information I am up and running again. I'll do a step-by-step methodology later covering this issue. In the meantime I applaud your  choice of words 'flatten' indeed! Even with the hierach.pm transferred the folder/tray structure was 'flattened' (read ...

  • Re: Pegasus on linux server

Hello, Thomas,  As I walked the dog in the rain the missing piece of the jigsaw puzzle popped (excuse the pun) into place. I _knew_ that you were writing on it and rushed home but you beat me to it.  Not having Pegasus here on this old m/c I may be wrong in the name, but when you set up Pegasus clients to connecting to the server I ...

  • Re: Pegasus on linux server

Hello, Thomas,  Thank you for your reply. I must say that sounds an original solution but not one that I can follow at the moment. What I really need is a native linux popper that will dump new mail into the pegasus folder with a .CNM extension. Then Pegasus can access that folder via a Samba share on the server and conduct business as ...

  • Pegasus on linux server

Hi,  I am converting our main server to a linux one. I was wondering if there is any way of retaining the normal existing pegasus directory structure, and if so how do you get the new mail into it in a Pegasus readable way.  I now have over 2000 folders for the main user alone and I would like to retain the existing emails ...

  • Re: Linux : Wine and pegasus beta

    >> In my opinion, the Pegasus' team (including Peg's users) has more to win in the fixing than the Wine's team.   If we take just this year, then we now know...Citroen have moved 250 servers and 20,000 PCs over to SuSE Linux. The French Government have moved over 70,000 Police desktops to Ubuntu Linux. The Spanish government have put ...

  • Linux : Wine and pegasus beta

Hi, I had no luck with Pegasus and Wine (neither version 0.9.59, nor 0.9.61, nor 1.0 RC2) When I close a window (compose mail, for exemple), pegasus just silently exit. When choosing the mailbox path, pegasus doesn't understand correctly and create a new one where it should use an existing one. I wonder if some of the beta testers had tested the ...

  • Pegasus Mail and Linux / Open Source

As discontent with Microsoft's ''business practices'' grows, we have seen unprecedented interest in alternative solutions for operating systems and applications. As a natural consequence of this, I have received numerous, or maybe even innumerable requests for a Linux version of Pegasus Mail. As a corollary to these requests, I have had a lot of ...
