Acording to RFC 2049 appendix B, pt 7 and 8, it clearly states that to be MIME conformant, the BNF must be preceeded by CRLF, as part of the BNF itself. That said, Mercury could possibly be made more ''tolerant'' in this respect.

Hi. How do I modify the FILETYPE.PM file to add application/ms-tnef in PM? Just adding ''MS-TNEF,0,X,0,.DAT'' seems a little simplistic to me. All .DAT files are not of the ms-tnef type. Thanks! François

  Hello!   Just guessing: perhaps, MIME-encoding was not turned on. It can be turned on at ''Tools'' | ''Options'' | ''Outgoing mail'' | ''Messages and replies'' -> ''Use MIME features - ON''.
