  • ClamAv / ClamWin / Confirmation of successful virus checking

The ClamAV world seems in flux. ClamAV now seems to be Immunet. In an effort to get ClamWall running, I ended up downloading ClamWin and pointed ClamWall to the bin directory. The Question then became ''Is it working''. I have not figured out how to tell. One of the things I love about Mercury is what I call ''Visibility''. It is reasonably ...

  • No SMTP 550 failure code for deleted user account

Hi, Folks Note that in the following discussion I have changed the names of the accounts. Yesterday I removed a user account from our system. I used Mercury to do this: Configuration > Manage local users... > selected the account and clicked Delete. I also checked the filtering rules and removed a couple of entries that processed mail for ...

  • Mercury/32 v4.x on Windows 7 and later

Mercury is a server program that interacts via connections, and has it's own storage. Therefore Mercury needs to be allowed to write to disk and be allowed to communicate over tcp-ports. This means practically that you should open your firewall and the OS-firewall to allow traffic to and from Mercury, and, allow Mercury to write to the Disk. On ...

  • Logging of incoming connection failures

Hi I had a situation recently where Mercury/32 was rejecting messages based on the transaction filtering available under the MercuryS compliance section. The default TRANSFLT.MER file was enabled and was rejecting connections (S, ''*for job*'', BS, ''554 Possibly employment spam - please change and re-send.''), for no good reason that I ...

  • Popfile directory move help needed

I am currently running Mercury on a system where it is installed on the C drive, but Popfile appears to be installed on a Raid drive that is in a critical state, on the same machine. I need to install Popfile onto the C drive of the machine and am not sure how to do this. (I am moving all data off this raid drive as it is not worth keeping it any ...

  • Changing aliases

Hello, all: We are using the aliases feature of Mercury/32 to handle email inquiries that come from a form on our website.  The emails come in addressed to and an alias in Mercury (Configuration, Aliases) equates that email alias with the real person's account, say jsmith.  Everything works great!  Now when ...

  • multiple SMTP Relay accounts

I have a dynamic IP from my ISP which means I don’t want to send my own email, as some people consider mail from dynamic automatically spam.  Furthermore my ISP restricts the number of unique FROM: email addresses when sending to 10 and I have to register all email addresses that will be used for sending.  I run a small business and this ...

  • Duplicate messages and directory permissions while moving to Win7

Hi, I've got the following; just replaced my WinXP Pro system with a new Win7 Pro system. Installed Mercury from scratch, then copied the whole directory with all underlying directories to the new system, overwriting the fresh install. I read the FAQ that stated that Mercury has no config options elsewhere so this ought to work. (the old system ...

  • MercMax - window size daemon for Mercury

This is a small daemon that simply sets the display state of the Mercury window when the program is started. It defaults to showing the program maximized (covering the entire screen), but with a parameter it can for instance be used to minimize the window.

  • Mailboxes lost in Mercury

Today I have had to re-create five user mailboxes in Mercury. I have written this so that anyone else who experiences the same or a similar issue can quickly resolve it, or it at leasts points them to a workable solution.. Mercury is installed on a member server in a Windows Active Directory domain. All the clients access Pegasus Mail directly ...
