  • Mercury/32 v4.01c Security patch for MercuryS AUTH CRAM-MD5 vulnerability

This patch corrects a vulnerability in the MercuryS SMTP server where a maliciously constructed AUTH command could cause buffer overflows and potentially compromise your machine. You must be running Mercury/32 patched to v4.01b before installing this patch. All sites using MercuryS exposed to the open Internet should regard this patch as ...

  • Mercury access control list

I use the access control list, a lot. The built in editor works for a small number of entries and I am sure that that is how David imagined it would be used. I wrote something more to my liking for what I am doing. In short, it sorts the list and removes redundancy's. I would like to see something like this in mercury. You can read more and ...

  • Add a company logo to all outgoing mail.

Perhaps using the existing add a block of text tool as a basis allow administrators to set up a logo and effectively company wide signature for all outgoing email.   In our case we would use the current disclaimer text along with company contact information and our logo.

  • GrayWall 1.0 Documentation

Graywall is a program that adds a graylist (or greylist) feature to the Mercury/32 SMTP server. It uses the Mercury/32 API facility that has been introduced in version 4.51. You must have at least this version of Mercury/32 to run Graywall! Information about graylisting in general can be found at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greylist. We ...

  • Copy Mercury to new server

I apologize, I know this question has been asked before, because I've seen it.  But all my searches have turned up nothing. What is the simplest way to move an entire Mercury installation from an old computer to a new one, with the same operating system? The reason I ask is because I am not sure whether or not there are registry settings, ...

  • TRANSFLT and RDNS

The transaction filter on the HELO state works well if the announced name is the actual name.  Spammers very often insert something else that changes faster than I can change my socks.  This makes catching things like *adsl* not work all the time.  If Mercury did an RDNS and the transaction could home in on the RDNS result then this ...

  • Generate 400 level smtp error code

Hi,  Does anyone know how to generate a 400 level smtp error to the MTA from Mecury server?  We have a StrongMail server as the MTA which fowards emails to Mercury server and listens for the response. We are trying to simulate a scenario to have 400 level smtp error code return to Strong Mail (MTA)  Thanks Terry

  • Mercury/32 UIDL Patch for MercuryP v4.51

A patch for MercuryP v4.51 is now available at http://community.pmail.com/files/folders/patches/entry2517.aspx. The patch addresses the UIDL response to issue a NUL list instead of issuing an error when a maildrop is empty. The RFC regarding this response is vague, however the previous error response from Mercury when the maildrop is empty causes ...

  • Mercury/32 UIDL Patch for MercuryP v4.51

This is a patch for MercuryP v4.51 that responds to the POP3 UIDL command slightly differently when the mailbox is empty. It now defaults to sending a NUL list instead of issuing an error. The default behaviour is now to use NUL lists instead of issuing the error, but this can be changed using an INIfile setting if necessary. Note that ...
