  • MercuryD Problem: 'non-local message ignored' when I don't want to

Hi folks, 1] Happy (remainder of) the holidays! 2] Time for some overdue maintenance on the Mercury setup, which is one host with three mailboxes and another one with 1; all under the same domain (avalokite.doge.nl), main reason to use Mercury is its quality to split the incoming messages over the four mailboxes based on analysing the To: ...

  • Re: Mercury D Username Length

Hi Rolf, A shame but thanks for the information. I'll have to find a way round it since Mercury is good for what I want to do. Maybe a longer username is something for the future !!

  • POP3 client - delete messages from remote server

Hi Within Pegasus Mail there is an option when setting up POP3 access to delete the mail from the server once it has been retrieved. Is it possible to do this with the POP3 client in Mercury? I ask because I am setting up a mail server for a very small charity who want a copy of their mail on their local network. I can configure their MX ...

  • Mercury D Username Length

I can see how to modify the mercuryd.dll to increase the box size for input of the username for the Mercury D POP3 mailbox definition. There seems to be a limit to the number of characters which are saved after input of the username. I need to use a username of approx 70 characters in length, does anyone know if there's an .ini or .dll ...

  • Re: Filter rulez...

Okay, NOW things get a bit more clear, I misread the Move... New rules file limited to: Mercury Global RulesIf header ''T'' contains ''sandya'' Copy ''sandya''If size > 1000000 SkipNext ''''If header ''F'' contains ''*'' Forward ''erikdr@mywebmail.com''  And indeed forward works. However not everything under control yet, far from that - ...

  • Filter rulez...

Okay, goofing a bit again, part of the learning curve...  The global filtering rules I try not to use solely for distributing to the correct PC/mailbox but also for auto-forward to webmail, handy during office hours. Basically 2 rules: a) If size > 1 M then skip next rule b) If To-header contains * then forward to ...

  • Re: POP Mail client...

Okay, accounts created, tnx for that; will see whether now it keeps the downloaded test msg.  AVG e-mail checking disabled for now, indeed weird; it should act between the ISP and Mercury (as V 8.5 does with Winproxy on XP), so a new problem with either 9.0 or Vista; will tackle once the comms work. Sending test mails gives The ...

  • POP Mail client...

Hi again,   Okay next step. Basically just a request to point me in the right direction, manuals and Wiki are vague on this. MercuryD does get the main from POP server (even with ICS) but now how to configure Windows Mail (Outlook Express 7) to use it? Just pointing to 'localhost' up til now, as I did with predecessor Winproxy. ...

  • MercuryD configscreen fails under Vista?

Hi friends,  Started the uphill battle of migrating to Mercury from a defunct local soho mail server... Try to configure MercuryD to get my domain mailbox from the POP server (and then distribute locally). Can ADD the Pop Account, then SAVE the config, and then reopening the MercuryD config screen it's   ..... gone...  Am I ...

  • Messages not delivered to local user mailboxes

I have, for some time, been running Mercury V4.62 on a single machine, using MercuryD to collect mail from 3 POP servers and deliver it to half a dozen mailboxes, without significant problems.  I have recently added a fourth POP server and the mail from this site is not being delivered correctly. In the setup for MercuryD if I ...
