    Both are based on a pair of private and public key. The difference is, that with S/MIME the public key will be transformed by an certification agency (CA) to a certificate. This certificate (and not the public key) is, what you publish with your mails (i.e. in your mails signatures) and that someone, who wants to send a encrypted mail to you, ...

  • Is the StartCom SSL root certificate already included in Pegasus?

    Hi, as you maybe know Thawte stopped their free Class 1 WoT SSL certificates to sign emails in the end of last year. As far as I know right now there are only CACert and StartCom offering free S/MIME certificates. The CACert is AFAIK not included in any mail client, so its pretty useless since it will always result in an error by ...
