Is there any way to set the correct size for the button bar in multi-panel view?

I was having a problem with running Mercury on Vista because of Service interaction detection. Some one suggested to run Mercury in application mode. I am completely new to Mercury could some on guide me to a step by step instructions on running in application mode. Thank you in advance.

I am running 4.51 with vista and I am having a problem attaching a file created in excel and saved as a PDF. If i attach the excel file 24m I have no problem. Whenever I try to attach the PDF 30m Pegasus crashes and I have to restart.  Any Ideas???   Thanks Jon 

Within Firefox that setting is currently set as you describe so I guess that may be an extra consideration. Andrew
