Thanks for the info.
I wish to view folders that are in an old home directory (and possibly move some to the current one). It is possible (indeed, likely) that some folder names will be the same in the two home directories, (humans being creatures of habit!). So should I be able to do safely the following: Folders | Add mailbox, choose User, ...

So there we have it - the question resolved, and an understanding of how to prevent the problem from re-ocurring.
But I have to comment (I can't stop myself) - how can it be that the AV producers (who fully understand the risks of deleting files) send out their 'point & click' software, with defaults set to delete?
It's not as if we are now ...

Ok, so here's the bummer,
The two pmm folders are not required - one of which was the folder for undelivered messages - maybe they were auto sent, and refused because of infections.
The two folders I wanted are not there, so I checked AVG8 history log, and it states it found 18 infected files, yet it only quarantined 5 - the others are not ...

ciao,
Here's what Hans has to say:
''These file pairs reference actual mail folders, where messages are stored in a more compressed form. The former indexes the position of the message in the latter file. The *.PMM file is a normal ASCII file containing all messages, separated by a CTRL-Z. Although this are ASCII files, any editing can mess up ...

Oh dear - the more I look the worse it seems to get:
First off - I tried deleting the Name_Unavailable element0,0,''I11BSX20:26AC:FOL0077F'',''1CC25143:My mailbox'',Name_Unavailable
Replacing it with 0,0,''I11BSX20:26AC:FOL0077F'',''1CC25143:My mailbox'',''A - Mail Read''
When I reloaded PM the line of text merely returned to its original: ...

I have Pegasus running on my home laptop. It has a ''My mailbox'' on the C: drive and an IMAP connection to the Mercury/32 server at work. What I'd like to know is what's the easiest way to copy the contents of the IMAP folders to new folders under My mailbox? Is there anyway to select more than one at a time?

I've just had to change my computer and now have Windows Vista when previously was using XP. With XP when setting up a new user ID on a different computer and restoring my backed up mail, I would simply copy all the files in the e.g. PMAIL\MAIL\admin folder into the same folder on the new computer. I have managed to setup Pmail successfully in ...

Because the implementation of Spamhalter requires that the Spam folder's *filename* does not change, ''emptying'' that spam folder by simply deleting it is no longer possible.
The only way that I know of to preserve the association between filename and foldername is to empty the folder manually (i.e. message for message) which is a tiresome ...

Hi.
I was using PM for several years (backfrom the 2.x series) and changed to other ones in the past two years.
Mainly The Bat and then Thunderbird.
I recently installed PM 4.41 from scratch, as my old setup had been completely wiped.
Applied the french translation module.
I ran it for about two weeks, and then had two folders ...

I have recently started using Pegasus and moved my mail from Outlook Express. I wanted to have an indentical folder hierarchy, which included some sub-folders. Unfortunately, I'm unable to create sub-folders for some reason. I've ended up with a list of folders all at the same level. If I choose to move a folder it brings ...
