I'm trying to use IMAP to transfer messages from Pegasus to Outlook. I
am dragging the messages from Pegasus to fastmail.fm's server via IMAP, then
dragging them from that IMAP folder into Outlook.
The problem I'm having is that Pegasus is logging out and logging in
for every single message, which is causing headaches for fastmail, ...

Some things you may want to try:You may want to periodically empty the message or header cache for your connection. Right click one of the folders in your IMAP message box and select Folder Information. Click both Clear buttons. This will dump the local message cache for that individual folder.
