Allow me to butt in, if I may. I'm running Mercury/32 via WINE (the latest) on Ubuntu 7.10.
I have not needed the switch, though I'm using it now to see if it does resolve the problems I'm having. (I do get an error about a missing assembly for Windows.Common-Controls which is somewhat worrisome, and a MIDI error, which is not worrisome.)

I cannot get Pegasus to do any sort of authenticated SMTP on any port. From my internal network I can send via a plain port 25 connection with Pegasus, but as soon as I try to authenticate, no matter which port or option I use, it fails. As far as I can tell, Pegasus tries to do CRAM-MD5 and the server doesn't like ...

Hi, I'm using XAMPP on my server local so I have Mercury as SMTP server. When I try to send email from php script the SMTP server response is: 553 We do not relay non-local mail, sorry.

I have recently taken over as sys admin here and I have never used Pegasus mail before.
I am now getting many/most users not able to send mail. I have gone through the help files and have looked at what I can an dI think I hav edetermined it is a file security setting somewhere. This is my setup:

AFAIK (I used some years ago a plugin for OpenOffice.org), you need to have both programs opened and then, if you wish to send the message immediately, to enable the ''send the message immediately'' option. The behaviour was that, if I closed the Office program, Pegasus Mail didn't send the file for me.
