Hello,
This is just to help anybody who falls in the same problem that I had.
I had my DNSs pointing to Google 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.
I had Mercury server with spamcop in spam control running fine.
I added spamhaus to spam control but it didn't filtered out any spam.
As soon as I changed back my DNSs to my ISP's DNSs, spamhaus begun to ...

There is no one thing that is effective against spam but if you use a variety of tools you will find that you can beat it. I also use spamwall, content control and transaction filters. I have just over a hundred users and I would guess that only about a dozen spam messages ever get to my end users in any given month.

We have Symantec SMSSMTP, as our mx hosts - charge nothing for the service, and it has filtered a total of 96% spam, straight down the waste bin. Does it do it's job? Sure does! - Should I complain? - yeah, because I expect more from such a costly product.
