For the public (a more detailed reply was sent to the original poster): These messages are actually really broken, they only provide the multipart/alternative header without specifying any MIME compliant text subsection, just an HTML stream attached.

You can customise the toolbar using the bpanel.txt file in the Resource directory. Mine looks like this. I also removed a few dll and fff file pairs that I don't use, so the associated icons don't show in the toolbar. I think it looks less cluttered this way than when all large icons are featured.

Are you using any Email Notifier Software like POPPeeper along with PMail?

I had encountered same issue when I tried to access my mail via PMail while POPPeeper was processing the same pop3 account.

I think that this post gives instructions to do what I need to do.  Thanks.  I did want to add this from another post as I have Windows 7 and I think others may bump into this too:

 

"Also, pconfig.exe is a 16 bit DOS app which will not run on a 64 bit OS.  Options are to run it using a DOS emulator like DOSBOX or run it on an XP machine then copy the resulting pmail.cfg to the Pegasus Mail on a 64 bit machine."

Thank Thomas for your prompt response. I tried your second suggestion first, and it worked! Not sure how that window separator got changed so the attachemnts didn't show. Thanks for solving my problem.

Check your POP3 (you don't say) settings. Make absolutely sure they are correct - username, password, ports.

Exclude the Pegasus Mail folders from anti-virus checking. Exclude Pegasus Mail from any monitoring software e.g. behavioural analysis programs.

Recently upgraded to 4.61 hoping a minor irritation would be fixed. With three of four users (on the same machine), when PM is started, the folders dialog box with preview defaults to "New Mail" and displays it fine. All four users have tools|options|basic settings "Automatically open the new mail folder at startup" checked. However, with one of the users, the folder dialog box has the "My Mailbox" folder hilited, not "New Mail" and a separate dialog box with "New Mail" is displayed. To correct, I close the separate "New Mail" dialog box and select "New Mail" in the folder dialog box. All users are set to save the desktop session state. What is necessary to correct? Thanks!

I don't know whether Pegasus Mail can do this at all (maybe using filter rules), so I would guess you better post this question to the . Aside from this: Do you believe five-staring your own post is a fair practice? To me this comes very close to a spammer's practice, I'm afraid ...

Two important considerations: are you aware that you can run winpm-32 and import your whole setup and data to an Ubutu + Wine system/

Second consideration is what formats of messages folders and what address book formats does the new Evolution Mail do Import? Pegasus Mail contains functions to export address book information in two formats and email messages can be moved to .mbx format storage folders that can be imported or used by many  unix based mail clients. Distribution lists are singe plain text file each so they should be importable to everything. 

Several freeware and commercial email conversion programs claim to support Pegasus Mail. Another couple claim to handle address book conversions.

I read the FAQ about the unknown publisher warning - in my case it was Pegasus running from a directory on my local network server that was giving me the message.

 Without unchecking any boxes or changing any selections, I just went to the advanced tab in internet options-security.

 I added "\\server" and clicked the ADD button. Closed up the Internet options windows and all is now well.

Hi

Just started to use Pegasus and want to know how I can change the tabs that appear when you open your address book.

At the moment mine show Name   Key and Phone I would like to just have Name and Email.

We have a small peer to peer network using public folders on a file server. I can create and delete public folders, but when i move a folder or sub-folder, although it seems to move Ok, it refverts back to previous position when I re start Pegasus. This happens when I do it on the file server direct and also from other PCs.

Help appreciated

When I make changes to my local IMAP inbox, these are not executed on the server, apparently, until I close the IMAP connection. Is this a bug or intentional?

 To check, I have the same IMAP folder open on a webmail interface as well (it's an Outlook Exchange server, actually), and I see the messages there until I manually disconnect the IMAP connection in Pegasus. Moreover, New Mail windows pop up from time to time, showing me '3 new' mails, when I have just removed 3 mails from the local folder, so that indeed there are 12=9+3 on the remote server, but only 9 locally. (Additionally, on startup I often get the total number of mails in the IMAP inbox announced to me as new mails.)

Hi Michael,

I don't use preveiw mode, all my windows display in the stand-alone format.  All my prior explanations relate to that mode.

I have a problem that do not rise to the status of "issues".  I'm sorry you can't visualize what's happenning.  Of course I'll continue trying to work around this problem and in time I'll resolve it.  It's unusual however that there have been no other similar requests as mine are on record.  The possibility of the software being corrupted is not very likely simply because the same problem existed with the same email correspondence on my prior computer running a different operating system.

Thank you very much for your help trying to resolve this one.  I don't feel quite so bad now knowing an experienced user is scratching his head as well!

The POP3 protocol says that when a message download fails that the mailbox is to be restored to the condition at the start of the POP3 session.  This includes the requirement that the server remove all tags for deletion as well.  There is something wrong with the server if the mail is getting deleted when there is an error in the download. Talk to the people running the POP3 server.  You might want to show them a session log of the failed POP3 download as well.

To add to this...I run into this quite a bit with admin's who have no idea what they are doing or how to configure their systems, but they can quote gibberish really good.  Good enough to fool their bosses into thinking they know what they are doing.... A good admin can tell you EXACTLY why a message is being blocked or sent to some kind of spam folder and can fix the problem if wrong.
