In Pegasus Mail go to Help menu, commandline options which includes
Run control options -A (no parameter) Forces Pegasus Mail to run in standalone mode, ignoring any NetWare connection. -ROAM This option tells Pegasus Mail that it should ignore the configured drive letter when locating user mailboxes and mail files, and should instead use the drive letter of the drive from which WINPM-32.EXE was run. If Pegasus Mail and your mailbox directories are located on the same physical drive, you should always use this option. -ROAM greatly simplifies running the program on Peer-to-Peer and non-NetWare networks, because it allows the same copy of the program tobe run no matter what drive letter mappings exist on the particular workstation where it runs. This switch also allows you to install a complete, working copy of Pegasus Mail, complete with mailboxes, onto a memory stick, and to use that memory stick in any computer where it is subsequently plugged. You must not use this switch if Pegasus Mail and your mailbox directories cannot be accessed using the same drive letter. This switch is ignored and has no effect in either Novell NetWare operating mode.
Without some idea of exactly what Exchange is doing that's causing the problems, I can't even offer a diagnosis. I don't have access to an Exchange 2010 server, either, so there's no way I can look into this myself.
Pegasus Mail's IMAP support is fairly basic - it doesn't do anything very complicated, so it's hard to imagine what Exchange could be doing that could cause so many issues... That said, IMAP is incredibly dense, and there's bound to be plenty of things I've never anticipated.
If someone can get session logs showing the command/response sequences leading to problems like this, I'd be happy to look into it, but without pretty clear illustrations of what's going on, there's absolutely nothing I can do.
I move my old messages to a Folder. At the end it advised to
re-index. But after re-indexing, the folder is missing.
Did you get an error message when or after reindexing? If not you might try my suggestion from . Depending on the Pegasus Mail version you're using you might also try the mbxmaint_ui.exe tool from Pegasus Mail's program directory (it only exists in recent versions).
Michael. Many thanks for your reply. Ironically, the problem seems to have corrected itself. However, I will implement your suggestions if it re-occurs.
There's also a settting that alows me to turn off the certification but leave the scan, which I have done (for now). I don't know how Pegasus processes the headers, or whether there's an opportunity to provide for things like this. At least the problem is identified, and options are pretty easy.
I guess my attempts will be to install Pegasus to a different location as soon as I get my own computer back (everything taking a while since it happened at work...). Then I'll try the things you mentioned. Really strange with the still appearing files...
In case nothing will work out, I'll come back to it. Thanks again! :)
Ah yes, it was that one I was thinking about; attaching it to a folder. I haven't used it, but I can see that it can very useful.
So I think one can definitely say that identities work and are very versatile. Heh, I've been using Pegasus so much and for such a long time that I don't know how other e-mail clients work if you want to change to another address and send a few mails then change back. Polling several accounts, yes, but sending; it works very well in Pegasus.
Since the topic is how to set up and use different email addresses, I would like to add that I can see that as one of the areas where Pegasus perhaps should have some "quick guide", or wizard etc. There is no lack of information; there is a wealth of information in the help file and manual, and elsewhere. The main "Identities" entry in help is very useful, and identities can be used for a lot of things but I guess it's used mostly for different addresses, then perhaps there should be some info: "Using more than one address? Here is how you do it."
I tried to set a wallpaper for a signature using both .gif and .jpg files.
In Edit Signature (Signature Set 1 - Internet Adderess, Formatted Content), on selecting the graphic file, the background is displayed properly.
But on saving the signature and opening a new mail, background does not appear.
If reopening the signature you just edited you'll find that the background image isn't permanently stored. I haven't checked the specs but it appears that the RTF format doesn't support background images as even OpenOffice didn't store a background image along with the RTF encoding, and as Pegasus Mail uses an RTF editor converting the encoding to HTML on delivery only there doesn't seem to be a way for achieving what you're looking for this way.
But maybe using a stationary message (or a template which would work for replies as well, never worked with this so I can't tell) could achieve what you're trying to do, you'd just have to remember using it whenever you want to include a backgound image.
Thanks, Aderoy - I will definetely adapt the backup storage time to a short interval ...I must confess, I never used Ctrl S when writing mails .. I always relied on the standard draft backup ... Nothing like the described loss happened before ... But obviously nobody else has an idea, whether the draft is gone now forever or where I could look it up --- Well, I guess, I have to start all over again & learn from that experience .. Thx all, tom
My web hostI found something interesting but I need to install the app on the Linux server and it seems to be more than just a simple PHP application.
Thanks for all help.
Sorry, how could this be a Pegasus Mail support request, please???
The latest BearHtml (4.7.1) renderer fails as well, the reason is most probably one of these
Well, my assumption was wrong, it's indeed broken quoted-printable encoding: There are equal signs which aren't properly encoded ("=" becomes "=3D" in quoted-printable encoding): While the first part is properly encoded (<p class=3DMsoNormal style=3D'text-autospace:none'>, e.g) the missing part is not (<p class=MsoListParagraphCxSpFirst style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;margin-left:18.0pt;text-indent:-18.0pt;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1'>). Please complain to the sender ...
BTW: If you disable both renderers and have TER display the HTML it'll work as it appears to ignore the broken style declaration which it doesn't process anyway), IOW: The attachment preview can display it as well, and if using my S/MIME extension you'll get it displayed, too, provided it has been received via POP3 (for setting proper message flags).
> Have a problem with main folder. the emails look intact in the main folder however when I move them to another folder the message get > corrupt in the folder moved to. When checking folder info the unique ID is corrupt I have tried deleting the index related to the folder > id then reindex but to no avail
1. Move all the messages you want to save to a temp folder and delete all the messages in the original folder.
2. Use the right click "recover deleted space" to remove all messages form the folder.
3. If step 2 works then simply move all of the messages from the temp folder back to the original folder and delete the temp folder.
4. If step 2 fails then delete the original folder and rename the temp folder to match the original name. Reset the filter pointing to this folder.
I am getting very confused on these instructions
What exactly? If you don't understand any of the options please look them up in the online help (via Help button), what else would be confusing? If you answer a distinct question you'll get a distinct answer, I'm sure.
I just noticed something very unusual with your last new mail count figure. On first glance I thought it was 608 which would be extremely large amount but on reread I see it is 1608 mew messages. That by itself is sure to cause some problems. The max new mail count has been raised a couple of times but used to be 250 then 500 and possibly 750 now. Beyond that winpm-32 slows down drastically and new mail folder is only refreshed when done manually. New mail is not a regular folder, which may have many, maybe many thousands of messages. New mail is just visualization of the *.cnm files that have not yet been filtered or moved into message folders.
Can you rename the new mail files to something like *.cnm.bak with winpj-32 closed and the reopen to test. I think then things will work for you. If so then move/rename the files back again in small groups of maybe a couple of hundred and retest. Move them off to permanent storage or use filtering rules on them to store them. Then try another batch until all/ most have been moved out of new mail folder.
If that test fixes things then create some new mail, on open, filter rues to distribute the mail to folders or use a general rule set to move them manually into folders. With most users the new mail only contains a few messages and typically only those received in last session since starting Pegasus Mail, usually a few hours or less. It is unusual for a user to leave their machine on and Pegasus Mail running overnight. The exception might be somebody using IMAP and always receiving mail and leaving it on the server for storage. I'm assuming you download mail from server via POP3. Most ISP's frown on leaving mail on server for long or much volume left for storage.
