If I understand well the a@mail.dk, b@mail.dk is only aliases for only one existing mailbox. In this case you can use a mail filtering function in Pegasus Mail. You find it in Tools/Mail filtering rules/Create-edit POP3 rule set. There you can create rule for filtering mail in POP3 server. In first step you must create new entry by button New and then you can open it and add new rules in your case it will be rule for header of mail.
seems like I am the only one that has the need to have both From: and To: fields displayed in the message folders.
The "New Mail" folder displays only the From: field but I need to see also the To: field (I mainly use my provider WEB interface to read and send mail messages and only monthly I download both the received and sent messages in Pegasus in order to store them locally, so all the messages that I have sent appear with the From: field showing my name! but I need to see also the To: field in order to dispatch the messages to the proper folder)
The normal folders show only the From: field which is differently populated regarding if the folder is a "Sent Mail" folder or a "Received Mail" folder. In the former's subfolders in the FROM field I find the "To:" header while in the latter's subfolders in the FROM field I find the "From:" header. Quite smart but in my case, when I drag and drop a message in a "Sent Mail" subfolder that is in my "New Mail" folder and that is one that I have sent using the WEB mail interface of my ISP, in the FROM field I see the "From:" header which is always my name and not the header of the recipient since in this case the "smart" substitution does not work.
Is it possible to have both the "From:" and the "To:" headers displayed in a folder in two different columns? Or how can I activate the "smart" feature when I drag and drop a message into a "Sent Mail" subfolder forcing the application to display the "To:" field instead the "From:" field?
Setting of the font is stored in pmail.ini file (this file is plaintext so you can edit it e.g.in notepad) which is usually located in mailbox directory you can check if changes are written there after switch off Pmail there or you can try edit in this file manually size of font.
Check if this file is not set as read-only etc...
You can also delete this file and Pmail recreate it, but you lost all user settings include POP3/SMTP definitions.
I suspect your php script is messing with the < & > signs in an unsatisfactory manner.( i.e. adding them when not required), or else you should just omit them and let the script add them. The phpBB3 docs should tell you the syntax required.
Turn on session logging for MercS to get a transcript of what exactly is being sent by phpBB3.
Well, duh. Was not looking in the right place, I finally found it, did what you suggested and got rid of the offending email. I also emailed the person who forwarded it and many others to me and told her to stop.<g> thanks for your help.</g>
Checking headers I can see his webmailer mPOP Web-Mail 2.19 using the same encoding for both from and reply-to fields. So how come Pegasus displays it corretly when I open the mail but no in the inbox?
Not to spark another discussion on why I am using UNIX type folders ;-) ... they worked well for me and for what I needed them for the last 8+ years with some minor disadvantages.
However, I suspect that a lot of the performance related issues (long startup and shutdown times, see also other postings http://community.pmail.com/forums/thread/11606.aspx) may be related to that UNIX type folder format. Are there any other experiences on larger setups with many folders on how long it takes to start up and shut down just to get a comparison?
Folders: 1000 + folders (nearly all folder UNIX mailbox folder type) PC type: Dell Notebook P4mobile 1.7GHz, RAM 750MB, HD 120GB Startup time: ~30 sec. Shutdown time: ~30 sec
My 1000+ folders are nearly all of the UNIX Mailbox Format. Is there an easy way to convert them to PM type folders? The only way I could think of is by manually (re)creating each folder with the same name and then move the messages into the new ones, then delete the old ones. I did a test and estimated that this may take approximately 8-12 hours(!) to do ... so any more efficient way would be welcome :-)
Thanks for ideas.... still have the problems so all suggestion are highly appreciated.
Signature: I have now changed that and have a simple signature generated by Pegasus Mail and have chosen the option "internet adress - plain content". I Guess that is the best option - agree or should I handle it in any other way ?
Rich (formatted) Text is OFF in the Tools/Options/Outgoing messages section - should I change that, or !?
Yes tried that but since it is not all emails with attachments then it is hard to "recreate" but I will for sure try it the next time I get comments back that the recipient can not read the attachments....
I have been a Pegasus user for many years now. The biggest shortcoming of the program for me is the inability of the program to handle bidi (bidirectional) issues (i.e., in an environment where there is mixed use of LTR (left-to-right) languages such as English together with RTL (right-to-left) languages such as Hebrew or Arabic).
The unicode incompatibility of Pegasus has been a subject of various
threads in the Pegasus usenet newsgroups for years. For this reason I
now also have a gmail account, which I use for such bilingual messages.
For that reason I am still using Pegasus version 4.02, which as far as I know is the last version to properly display LTR (left-to-right) languages such as English on a computer which uses a RTL (right-to-left) version of Windows. Every other modern email client that I am aware of does not have this problem. I haven't switched away from Pegasus completely, however, because of the time it would take me to convert all my archived messages from Pegasus format to something the other programs can read.
I don't remember if I tested the most recent release of Pegasus (4.41) on this issue.
Its still the same in the 4.5 public beta. Increasing the number of characters displayed for the phone number would certaily make the address book more usable as an address book perse as there would be no need to select the individual entry to see the whole number perhaps you should post this in the wishlists section.
Well, yes, this might be an option. I tried some, but I haven't gotten around to do a full scale test yet.
However, my main concern right now is how do I get my mail sorted without restarting Pmail every 3000 or so mail, waiting 30 minutes until it counts to 200-odd thousand, filters 5 minutes and then do it all over again...
More so, I don't know if I did something wrong, my network is screwing up, a setting is not optimal, or Pmail creates the problem.
