Inbox emails disappeared. When using Pegasus 4.8 the emails in the Inbox were sorted alphabetically to be moved to their appropriate message folder. While moving an email to a message folder all of the emails from "A" to "L" disappeared. I have made a review (not hard) of all the Filing Trays and Message Folder and could not find the email which disappeared. I do not believe they have been permanently deleted, but if they have I need to know why it happened, so it does not happen again...

Wow..!!! Pegasus was easy to connect to my online email account. Downloading "inbox" was easy too. Unfortunately folders like "Sent items", "Drafts' and other Folders did NOT automatically download. Can i download "Other" folders using pop3..?

Hi all

I have been using v4.71 happily on Windows 10 for some time. Since a few days ago, every time I press the "Move" button to move a message from the "New Mail Folder" into a specific folder, PegasusMail freezes.

Task Manager doesn't show any problem (not "Not Responding" but the only way to unfreeze is to "End Task" and reload.

The move presets 1-6 work without a problem. The freezing problem is just when using the Move button.

Upgrading to v4.80 hasn't solved the problem. Though I haven't tried a fresh installation, as I suspect this has to be done in a strict manner.

I had been using PMAIL v8.0 since updating from v4.73 back in March 2022. Then in June 2022 I set-up a Gmail 2 stage app password, which has been working fine ever since for accessing my Gmail account for POP, SMTP, and IMAP.

I have been patiently waiting for over a year now for either a patch for the v8.0 Dictionary problem to be issued, or a final version of PMAIL v8.1. As neither of those seems likely anymore, I yesterday updated PMAIL to the newest v8.1 beta that David released on Jan 10, 2023. It appears to be working fine.

3 Questions:
1) Is there any advantage in changing from using my Gmail app password set-up to OAuth 2.0?
2) Are there any disadvantages?
3) Should I just wait for OAuth 2.1?

Finally: if I do decide to update PMAIL v8.1 to OAuth 2.0, how is that done?

As I was shutting down the computer last evening, I noticed that one of my "MASDA" folders was now empty. I'm at a loss as to how this might have happened.

The folder in question contained an assortment of important information, including receipts, invoices, and important dates and times, etc.

Hopefully, the mind trust of this group can point me in the right direction to restore the folder's contents.

My hard drive crashed and I have recovered the data to a new drive but I am moving it to a new computer. I had PMail v 4.73...installed and want to update to 4.80. When I installed it on the new computer, it gave me an option to set up or create something and I believe I unchecked that because I was planning to copy over my MAIL folder to the new PMAIL folder on C. When I did that, it said it recognized a new version, but none of my folders or emails show up. I installed all of PMAIL but don't want to try again for fear of messing up my husband's pristine new computer.

I saw a question from last year about moving to a new computer, but they had the same version on both. Below is the About/Info that was requested there.

I have re-installed PMail v. 4.8 and starting over. I cannot send because a 530 Authentication is required. Explain to me what this is and how to do it or fix it. I am able to connect to GMail and receive but not send.

Computer crashed and had to reinstall Pegasus Email. Can receive emails OK, but cannot send. All attempts generate the following error:
454 4.7.1 : Relay access denied.

How can I reset my Pmail parameters to prevent this?

PMail v4.8 on my Windows 10 has totally locked up. The start screen hangs and program does not respond. I think I need to uninstall and re-install. Can this be done without loosing my address books and contacts?

I would like to set Pegasus Mail as my default mail application in Windows 10 - 64 bits

But, when I display the default apps and try to set it, Pegasus does not appear as a selectable option and there is no way to scan the applications installed on my system !

How could I solve this problem ?

About 2 weeks ago my Office 365 OWA login unexpectedly changed its logged-in Timeout - and MFA insisted on a smartphone app. The Pegasus SMTP connection was rejected as invalid login details.

The first problem was eventually solved by me setting up Legacy MFA again and asking for new text MFA details at login. The process for getting an SMTP authentication code seems to have become a rabbit hole of jargon covering a multitude of potential administration requirements. Catch-22 and brickwalls everywhere. Including suggesting SMTP client API has changed to require Graph?? The Pegasus application registration had disappeared. Now sort of recreated but is not appearing in my users so it can be assigned.

I note that there are also warnings that MS will close the Azure AD service in September. My suspicion is that my account was transitioned to the new service without my knowledge or possibly even the ISP help desk's. Anyone any ideas?

I am new to Pegasus Mail, and using it on Windows XP SP3. But I can't get the installer to open! It flashes up on the taskbar a couple of times and then crashes out. What can I do to fix this?

I recently was forced to install Pegasus on a new machine, following which I set Pegasus up as the default mailto app. This, however, has triggered a hard block by my security program, PCMatic, who have marked the wsendto file as BAD. I then contacted PCMatic, who cheerfully told me to forward a copy of the wsendto to them for their verification and addition to their database of good files. I set about doing this, (using Pegasus), attached a copy of the wsendto file, and sent it off, only to get a rejection of the message:

I think it highly unlikely that there is in fact the slightest issue with the sendto file itself, but there seem to be an awful lot of agents out there who disagree. Any advice on how best to resolve this? (Erase and re-install Pegasus, to get a clean copy of the wsendto file, in case my copy really has been altered by some evil actor? Go after my mail provider? What else??)

How does one activate the personal dictionary. Everything in my Pegasus 4.8 works perfectly EXCEPT when the spell check encounters new words. I click ADD but when, in a later message the same word occurs again, spell checker does not recognise it.
Is there some way to 'switch it on'

I've been using Pegasus Mail for many years, and am currently on version w32-472.

I've had some health issues in recent years, and am aware that I'm behind on some of my system software, and am looking to upgrade.

I'm using Windows 10 Pro.

Is it sufficient to install w32-480 on top of what I have, or is it more complicated than that?

Also, my current ISP is having some difficulties, and I'm looking around to see what the alternatives are. Are there some recommended ISPs that will work with Pegasus Mail as a client?

I have my own domain that I would like to transfer, as part of the process of going with a new ISP.

How can I make my configuration changes to IERenderer stick? After shutting down Pegasus mail and restarting, IERenderer reverts back to default every time. Thank you for your help.

My wife cannot get into Pegasus..
Opens the prompt ..
enters username
then it seems to be opening
then it just stops. without opening

This seems to have started after trying to send a PDF.
when sending the PDF
it made the waiting timer.. it took too long ..she let it run.
when she returned to look at it.. it had stopped.

She tried to update the program. but she is still unable to open
Pegasus.

I cannot open pdf attachments directly from a mail message in PMail (I just upgraded to ver 4.8 hoping it would solve the problem but it didn't). Images (jpgs, pngs) open in Windows Photos, and Word/Excel docs open in MS Word and Excel. I haven't tried any other file types because these are pretty much all I would receive as attachments. I'm pretty sure that in the past, pdfs did open in Adobe Acrobat Reader directly from PMail. I can save the pdf attachment and then open the saved file in Adobe Acrobat Reader.
Any ideas?
