Brian I have worked on the newest file and have the internet options right now I guess and sent and received mail.So maybe I am okay now,  I also got a shortcut pined to the task bar which works. .

  The problem with a user name is one I have had before and wonder why. Now to get my addresses and other mail in the new file.  Thanks Helen

Your post does not provide much information. 

Was the v4.71 installation an upgrade?  If so, were you having the same problems before the upgrade?

What changes occurred just prior to the start of the problem (new hardware? system crash? change in ISP? change in email host?)

Have you enabled internet session logging to see if the logs provide any clues?

When you say "crash" do you mean Pegasus Mail closes unexpectedly or does it just hang (stop responding)?  If hang, how long have you waited when it was in a "Not responding" state?

Have you reviewed the troubleshooting suggestions in the FAQs post titled "How to deal with crashes and hangs/freezes"  (http://community.pmail.com/forums/thread/31478.aspx)?

With IMAP you habe a seperate folderstructure at your provider (let's say: a seperate mailbox). With that structure you should have at minimum folders SENT and TRASH (maybe DRAFTS, TEMPLATES, ARCHIVES an JUNK in addition). If not - create them. In the options of the identity for that mailaddress point outbox to folder SENT, in IMAP-Profile point folder for deletd messages to TRASH.

Your local folderstructure isn't of any interest with IMAP! The advantage of that is, that your mails are accessable with any mailclient (including webmailerinterface of your provider if offered) from anywhere you have access to internet.

You don't have to download anything with IMAP ... simply click on the added INBOX . There are your new mails for that provider.

Yes - or configure the IMAP-Profile to connect at startup of Pegasus (what I would do).

Server went pear shaped, so it was replaced with 2012 r2, now we just have a random crash for some users anytime pegasus is opened from minimised...

I don't know if this will help, but from MS Office FAQ is this:

Yes, you can view messages on Android and iOS by downloading the OME Viewer apps from the and the Apple App store.

Open the HTML attachment in the OME Viewer app and then follow the

instructions to open your encrypted message. For other mobile devices,

you can open the HTML attachment as long as your mail client supports

Form Post.

It seems Microsoft does not want to share its secret encryption method, thus making it almost totally useless :-(

I am not sure if this would work for you. I have five email accounts that I want to keep separate, e.g. Personal, Business, etc. I set up five Pmail folders, each having the Program and Mail subfolders. Then I mapped five "network" drives to these folders. I have an shortcut icons on my Desktop to access each email account.

As for the lost subfolders; I recovered lots of .PMI and .PMM files - but none seem to match in base name. How could taht be? From the file-sizes and dates I can see these PMM files must be my old folders.

How can I see them again as mail?

Should I make a new thread on the forum on this specific subject?

I don't necessarily need to rebuild a tray structure - just to see the mails again would be great. So editing HIERARCH.PM is not ncessary, if I am correct?

I've resolved the problem by restoring both the ADMIN and Mail folder from a backup that was several days old. This resulted in the loss of a few messages from the last couple of days, but nothing catastrophic. I think this is an easier way to go than trying to trouble shoot the issue further. I sincerely thank you just the same for your assistance, Brain. Cheers !

If viewing HTML content use Ctrl+Page Up to increase and Ctrl+Page Down to decrease.

If viewing plain text, while a reader window is open click the Reader pull-down menu the select Font.  You then set the default font and size for the reader window when viewing plain text.  Notice that the Reader pull-down menu is only visible when a reader window is open.
