Thanks, I suspected that was the case. I am glad you were able to figure out what I was talking about without the picture. Today I had to be out of the office all day and did not have a chance to put up the image.

I am very impressed with Pegasus, though. Fun and easy to set up and use. I am keeping it as my backup in case I get more trouble from Thunderbird.

I feel for you, as I am in the same position. But if you have been reading items regarding automatic updating of Windows 10, you will come to the conclusion that updating is inevitable.  Even Windows Secrets blog is suggesting there will be no further upgrades to things like Windows 12, just installed patches/fixes which will record progress towards a perfect product.

And to seal our fate, Microsoft are going to be able to force updating apon us. The solution is bleak, but not impossible. We have to report problems to Microsoft and hope that somewhere in their future, patches etc they will solve our issues.

Thanks, I was asking since this issue appears to happen more frequently on Windows 10 with its two "native" browsers and IE not being the default.
What can I do to keep the umauts and other accented characters for the receiver?
For some reason the UTF-8 encoding didn't work properly. I've forwarded your sample to David Harris. As a workaround you might want to set Tools => Options => Advanced settings => Default MIME character set to ISO-8859-1 ("Western") until David provides a fix (I haven't tested this, though).

BTW: Posting email addresses like this to a public forum isn't a good idea since almost all public locations on the web are harvested by spammers (or malware distributers) for addresses to send their unwanted stuff to ...
Why IERenderer makes Pegasus freeze even without displaying any email (instead of properly reporting a problem)?
First of all the IER extension needs to load an invisible instance of the renderer to work around a bug M$ doesn't want to fix since Pegasus Mail most probably isn't "big" enough for them to care (IIRC it would disable pasting copied content from a renderer window after closing all instances of IE on your system - I guess this removes the HTML handler from the clipboard chain). Why there's an issue on WINE is beyond my knowledge, it's most probably some unimplemented IE related call. After talking to the WINE guys they told me I shouldn't try to work around this (even not disable IER completely if detecting the WINE environment provided I could do so at all) since it's supposed to be fixed by them. IIRC they worked on it for a while, apparently without success. And: Handling WINE issues without having a debug environment for doing so is rather difficult, at least for me ...

TER and IMAP issues can only be discussed with David Harris.
When you have forward attachments enabled Pegasus Mail attaches all parts of a message including the plain text body, IOW: It can simply be ignored, otherwise you'll need to remove this particular pseudo-attachment manually before sending the message.

I have had to do this before, but I need a reminder:  I want to Install it on my C Drive but keep my data (admin folder) on a separate drive where I keep my data file. Up to now, since I left XP behind and got a 64 bit system (now on Win 10), this is where I've been running it from, successfully up to now, but over the past week it has been constantly freezing, and maybe the unusual position could be part of the problem.
Often, when opening Pmail, it will start the splash screen and then it will disappear and nothing more happens. If I try to opening again, the shortcut icon just blinks once and nothing more occurs.
Under normal circumstances Pegasus won't open twice - so that's correct behaviour.
If I use the Task Manager there will be one or more of the exe files running, but none are fully loaded (i.e.,  the memory allocated is significantly smaller than normal).
Hmm ... sounds like there is another splashscreen (not that intro) where Pegasus is waiting for user action.
If I end all those processes, Pmail will start normally after noting that other occurrences  of the program may be running. What is causing this problem?
The last one is very simple: If you end Pegasus via taskmanager, the MAILBOXP.LCK indicating a running instance of Pegasus remains in your mailboxdirectory.

I'm not shure but if you shutdown your Windows (which Windows) without prior to it shutting down Pegasus. In that case the MAILBOXP.LCK eventually remains too, because Windows perhaps kills Pegasus process. When the splashscreen disappears, is there still an Pegasusicon in the taskbar or may be at the right end at the buttom in the status-/systembar? Maybe there is the second" splashscreen" with the note on running instance waiting on your action. Maybe you have confugured Pegasus in the options to hide the taskbar-entry on minimized Pegasus? Don't know why Pegasus minimizes!

I experienced two sources of long delays, maybe it is not your case but it might be worth checking:

- my default printer was unreachable (a laptop moved from my office to my home),

- the MAIL folder was under antivirus scan (or maybe Windows indexing service, cannot remember now)

Correct.  The credentials stick until Pegasus Mail is restarted.  If you don't want to have to enter your credentials for each session then enter them in the configuration of that POP3 host.

Tools > Internet options > Receiving (POP3) tab

Martin FYI: IER deals the same way with the mouse wheel like BearHtml does. And with regards to paths with blank spaces: My EXE path doesn't have any, but I don't see any issues with using a path containing blank spaces for my mailboxes. Aside from this it doesn't matter for Tom's issue since if it would he wouldn't even be able to launch MSO from within Pegasus Mail. David Harris most likely uses for launching external applications where it isn't required to provide any executable at all.

Unfortunately this is a problem with hi-resolution monitors displaying the fixed font sizes used in much of Pegasus Mail.  This has been discussed a log with no ideal solution being identified.  Some folks use screen magnifiers, other (like me) reduce the resolution of the monitor.  The optimal resolution for my laptop is 1920x1080 but I run it at 1600x900.

You may have already looked at the help file but if you haven't, press F1 to open it up then in the Contents tab scroll down to fonts to see info about the fonts that can be configured.
