Folder that cannot be reindexed

Dear Irelam,

Thank you very much for your utility. But anyway, I still think that this is a bug of Pegasus Mail itself and should be fixed. Reindexing should repair as much problems as possible. Or it at least should report an error message box that a folder cannot be repaired. Reindexing is not ordinary job, it is troubleshooting anyway.

In most cases I know workaround that  does not need external utility:

  1. Create a new folder within Pegasus Mail
  2. Copy mails from affected folter to a newly created folder
  3. Erase the defective folder
  4. Rename newly created folder to previous name.

Is it David's decision to make this bug to be a feature?

This problem is pretty frustrating. You erase some mails and then "Recover deleted space" does not work.

Reindex folder also fails.

I Know only one workaround for this. To create a new folder and then to move all stuff to a new folder.

This folder bug is still present in 4.71 PMAIL

Download my utility NotSplit from the downloads location at this site:

http://community.pmail.com/files/folders/utils/entry3962.aspx

You will need to let the utility run for a few minutes. You will then find all the individual messages in your Temp directory. Then simply copy the messages into your Pegasus Mail NewMail directory

(ie c:\pmail\mail\<your id>). From there in Pegasus Mail Move the messages into a new folder. Done.
