Message does not send

Started a problem yesterday and at a lost to fix.

Create a new message.

Hit 'Send'

Spell check is done (have check spelling prior to send)

Message window stays open

does not ask 'copy to self' folder (also checked in options)

Does not go to queue manager, nor show 'queued' of sending

Checked to make sure SMTP settings are correct, disabled firewall and anti-virus just in case. No joy. Re-enabled firewall and anti-virus

Have a copy on a thumbdrive, which I use portable when at work. This worked for sending on the same desktop. Tells me it is not the computer networking, firewall etc. Something with the main copy on the desktop.

Copied the pmail.ini from the thumbdrive over to the desktop (renamed desktop to pmail.old just in case). Compared the SMTP*.* between the two, text diff did not find anything different.

For giggles, I deleted two SMTP definitions on the desktop. Re-created definitions within Pegasus. Still can not send an email, just hangs after spell check forcing me to close the message window.

Odd thing is I can move/copy a message from one IMAP account to another. Just can not send.

Any words of wisdom I can try to fix this?

thank you

What was your solution?

Since it would work from the portable version on the machine told me the networking was mostly right.

Did the old 'switch to another mail client' as default mail client, save and then reset to Pegasus.

Worked from the desktop (old) nothing else changed. Odd but that is WinXP for you.
