Your post does not provide much information.
Was the v4.71 installation an upgrade? If so, were you having the same problems before the upgrade?
What changes occurred just prior to the start of the problem (new hardware? system crash? change in ISP? change in email host?)
Have you enabled internet session logging to see if the logs provide any clues?
When you say "crash" do you mean Pegasus Mail closes unexpectedly or does it just hang (stop responding)? If hang, how long have you waited when it was in a "Not responding" state?
Have you reviewed the troubleshooting suggestions in the FAQs post titled "How to deal with crashes and hangs/freezes" (http://community.pmail.com/forums/thread/31478.aspx)?
