Editing hyperlinks while writing messages?

Thank you, Brian! [Y] This stops my fretting about that, something that just can't be done.

Once I have inserted a hyperlink for a word or an image into a message I'm composing, I cannot figure out how to go back and edit or even double-check the underlying URL. While composing, I see nothing appear in the info bar at the bottom as I would if I were reading a message and moused over a hyperlink.

The only way I can figure out to be sure of what I've entered in the URL info is to completely delete the hyperlink and insert a new one. Rather inconvenient.

I have Pegasus 4.72.572. Am I missing something?

Dave B:

You can see what you entered (text and URL) in your last hyperlink by clicking on the little globe and chain link icon.

I think I've edited the link title (text) as it appears on my message without a problem. You could test by fooling around with a few test hyperlinks, sending the message to yourself,  and seeing what happens.

Or you could do what my nephew and son do and paste the hyperlink into BOTH address bars... takes all the fun out of it though.

Just got back from quite a lot of driving around in the Ozarks -- what interesting country.

Thanks for your suggestions, Molly, but they are to no avail.

Yes, I CAN always see what I last entered for a name of a link and its URL, but I can never return to a previously made hyperlink and alter it in any way - highlighting a previously made hyperlink and clicking on the globe and link icon will only show what my very last hyperlink was (which sticks there for some reason), but never the info of any earlier hyperlinks that I have highlighted.

The only way to change them is to completely delete the older hyperlinks and enter the information for each from scratch as you want it to be.

I have tried this again and again, and this is simply the way it is - once a hyperlink has been made and another has been made, there is NO way to go back to the older one and edit it - only delete it and re-enter everything.

Considering the long silence after my initial post here, I figure that this is the situation for most users. It's not a "huge deal", but it would certainly be more convenient to be able to edit previous hyperlink info rather than delete it and re-enter it all over again.

Dave,

I'll post just to reassure you that you are correct in that there is no way to edit a hyperlink when creating a message, at least not that I know of.  As you have discovered, the "insert hyperlink" button does exactly that and maintains the last hyperlink information used during the session.
