SOME - just some - links do not work.
Just a thought - how did I fail to notice that a newer version of IErenderer had been released?
There simply isn't an official notification mechanism like Pegasus Mail's homepage, so I'm (on the other hand) free to offer as many updates as necessary. The issues fixed in the latest version(s) only affected rather few people so far so there wasn't a need to announce it to a broader public either. But if you would like to stay informed just take a look at IER's official download site every now and then (the "subscription" might not work, but you might find external notification services on the Internet like Change Detection).
And how come only some emails exhibited this problem?
Microsoft created a new browser for Windows 10 introducing some new formatting features which slowly seem to spread into web page creation tools and have their effects on older versions of IE as well which provides the rendering engine used by IER. I expect to see such issues reported more frequently in the more or less near future.

Have used Pegasus for years but over the last few months some links in new emails do not work.  When hovering over them the pointer changes to a hand - but no tool tip window opens to display the ultimate address.  On emails that work the tool tip does open - and when you click - you go there as expected.

I wondered if the problem was some senders were using a new convention - but I have forwarded these odd emails to my partner and they work on her pc - albeit she runs OEclassic.

Breaking News !!! I have just discovered that if I switch views (twice) - the links now work as expected - hover and it shows address - click and you go there.

Why do the links not work from the outset?  Why does switching to plain then back to fancy solve the issue?

Help!!!

We need to know which html renderer (Bearhtml or IERenderer) you are using. While viewing a message with graphics, key in Shift + F1. You will see which one is active on the Pegasus Mail status line (bottom of Pegasus Mail window.).  Then it would be useful to mail one of the troublesome messages to me (Bearhtml) at irelam@telus.net,  and I will forward it to Michael (IERenderer) to inspect as well.

Which version of Pegasus Mail do you use? Can we please get a sample message to <beta-reports [at] pmail.gen.nz> (easiest way fowarded as an attachment to another message as offered by the forwarding dialog, please use a subject pointing to your forum post here so it doesn't get deleted as Spam).

Hi Martin - when I press Shift/F1 a help page opens and at the top under the words HTML Renderer - Help it says Internet Explorer Based Version.

I will as requested forward an email whose links do not work until I have switched Views twice, then they all do.

Thanks for your interest.

Alan.

Hi Michael,

WinPMail version: Version 4.72.572, Feb 19 2016, build ID 572

is what it says.

Alan.

PS just forwarded email as requested.

Michael - you have nailed it - thank you.  Installation of the latest version of IErenderer has cured the problem.

Just a thought - how did I fail to notice that a newer version of IErenderer had been released?

How many other issues am I living with that might be resolved if I knew what other support softwares might need updating?

Presumably my old IErenderer just came as part of the latest Pegasus release way back in Feb this year.  As there has not been a new release of Pegasus since then - whereas there has been 2 newer versions of IRrenderer its not surprising I was left working with a less than latest IErenderer.

And how come only some emails exhibited this problem?

Many thanks to all involved

Alan.
