Importing message files into Pegaus

Many thanks. I've been using PM for about 20 years but never knew mbxmaint_ui.exe existed! It works fine on the samples I've tried.

Can anyone say how to get PMM message files into Pegasus?

I've converted files from Thunderbird into Pegasus PMM files using a program called Mail System Converter and copied them into a working PM mail folder. I had been told that when PM opened next time the PMM files would automatically be added, but this isn't the case. Native PMM files from an archive also aren't added.

How can I get PM to recognise these non-native files?

You need a matching *.pmi index file to complete the set of files needed to operate the folder.  That's assuming that the PMM file was created correctly.

You can try using mbxmaintain_ui.exe to check the .PMM file.  The repair function will attempt to build an index.  Run with Pegasus Mail closed.

As for bringing in a .PMM file from an archive, it may not show up if it is an archive of a folder that is still in the mailbox.  There is a utility called PMRestArch designed to create new internal folder ID information to resolve this problem.  You can find it at:  www.lexacorp.com.pg/lexacorp_utilities.html#EMail

Forgot to mention: You should use the Mbxmaint_ui.exe to build the index.   Use the Repair option tab to create the index.
