Set Edge as preferred browser

Idw, many thanks for your reply, with IERenderer disabled, Edge is invoked properly.

Moreover, though IERenderer is disabled, I did lose nothing in reading html messages - they seem to render very properly, at least the few (different) ones I tried.

Hello. Is it possible to set Edge as preferred browser? "Finding browser automatically" doesn't work properly (it opens File Explorer, see All Urls Just Open Desktop Window in File Eplorer  ) while "Web Browser commandline" option isn't useful, because Edge is fused with Windows10 so strongly (it seems) there is no external Edge executable to point and run.
Currently I use another browser but I find Edge maybe not better but opening faster so would like to give it a try with e-mail hyperlinks.

I obviously use Win10.
PM is v.4.72.

I can't tell whether Edge your system default browser or whether you just want links from with Pegasus Mail to invoke it.  If the latter, I have been unable to find a way.  As you already know, Edge does not appear the have an executable.  You can invoke Edge and direct it to a specific web page using the command "microsoft-edge:URL" (eg: "microsoft-edge:http://community.pmail.com/forums/thread/46880.aspx" will open this thread.  But entering "microsoft-edge" or "microsoft-edge:" as the browser command line in Pegasus Mail does not work.

I choose not to mess with making Edge my default browser so have not tested that.

Microsoft Edge is not treated the same as normal browsers. If you change the Default App for *.htm and *.html to Microsoft Edge, the system will invoke Microsoft Edge correctly. The finding browser automatically will not work as long as the system is searching the Internet Explorer Registry entry.  HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Clients\StartMenuInternet to figure out the  browser list

You can presently locate Microsoft Edge at:

 C:\Windows\SystemApps\Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe\MicrosoftEdge.exe

Well, even if I set Edge as default browser and .htm and .html extensions are properly associated with Edge (it opens such files) it does not help with PM. PM opens File Explorer instead of calling Edge. :(

You need to disable IERenderer for this to work, because it looks up the browser list (as Martin explained in his post) for offering more flexibility if several browsers are installed. Since Edge isn't provided in this list IERenderer cannot invoke it until I find a workaround for doing this (with Martin's help since I don't have Windows 10).
