MiniDump extenstion installation/usage question

This users recurring Pegasus Mail crash issue has me at my wits end so I may have to resort to attempting a manual install of your MiniDump in the hopes of generating a dump report that will expose whatever I am missing.

Pegasus Mail is repeatedly crashing for one of my users.  I would like to utilize the MiniDump extension but the user runs a shared install with programs files and mailboxes on a server.  I attempted to install the MiniDump extension as a domain admin but installer failed because it couldn't find the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Pegasus Mail\Basedir registry key.  I then tried installing it as the user but that required admin privileges.  I then elevated the user to admin and tried again and now get a message that states setup has detected the Pegasus Mail is running...  There is no winpm-32.exe process running on that PC so am now wondering if the fact that this is a shared install has anything to do with it.  Advise needed please.

Yes, it has, Brian. Unfortunately I wasn't able to figure out an easier way of detecting whether Pegasus Mail is running: The installer checks whether WINPM-32.EXE can be opened with write access rights. Since I have no other way for figuring out such things I'm depending on people like you for testing any network related issues sufficiently. AFAIK the only way to circumvent the obstacles you see would be by running the installer directly on the server while Pegasus Mail is shut down for all users on all client machines.

If this isn't feasible for you there would be another workaround, though: The installer can be unpacked using innounp which would enable you to copy the required files to a proper place on the client machine manually and edit MiniDump.fff accordingly for pointing to the path of the MiniDump.dll library. You may need to create any shortcuts as required manually as well (I would recommend to look at a local MiniDump installation for figuring out the details).
