Cannot Download Emails

Thank you, Brian, for the response. I think this will save all some time. While waiting to see if things would start working properly I was watching TV. Things (Uverse) just went out and the "restarting" message came on my screen. I don't know if it was local or some kind of system outtage but after the restart finished I checked email just to see.

All was working properly!!! [:O] And I was gonna send a message to mods or other system personnel to disregard my help mail being evaluated before posting here. Couldn't find how so I just waited for the first reply. So it looks like the trouble was with Uverse and ATT couldn't find it nor were my settings (or whatever...) off.

But thanks again and I DO have the timeout setting(s) set to 180 seconds already.

 Robert

This problem started 2 days ago. I am running Pegasus on Windows 7 using ATT Uverse. I will get the message at bottom saying "downloading 1 of  5 messages" and it stops. It might d/l 1 message but not all. This happened maybe 1 time. The rest of the times it downloaded no message(s) and timed out.

I checked ALL my settings (unchanged) that have worked with Uverse since installed about 3 years ago. I checked all wiring connections (tight), re-booted router and nothing. TV, Internet and phone (same router) - no problems. Called  ATT and had them check (as best they could) my service. Said all was OK and settings, etc. were correct. Can't do much with Pegasus because they don't support it.

When checking this site for help and doing a search, I came upon a post from (one of the  moderators(?) with a sticky post about using ATT and ATT Uverse. Can't find it today to include here but I did what it linked to. No change or email download....

I've not really had problems using Pegasus and Uverse since installed. This is odd. Nothing has changed and all was well until Friday (3/3/2017) when it didn't receive email. Worked fine Thursday but not since. I CAN download email using the ATT web mail YAHOO as their troubleshooting guide suggests. It also says the problem should be with Pegasus if web mail works. Any ideas? I appreciate the help!

Check your timeout settings.  Keep in mind that there is one in the General tab of Internet Options and one in the POP3 host configuration.  Setting the one in the POP3 host to zero defaults to the one on the General tab.  Anything other than zero will take precedence over the one in the General tab.  I suggest at least 180.

Also, consider enabling internet session logging for one download attempt and then review the resulting log for a clue.  Read the associated help file for more info, specifically that credentials are logged so need to be obfuscated if posting a log.
