Clickable URL doesn't always work
Set default browser to MS Edge; restarted; tried Pmail - with same result as noted above; reset default browser to Firefox; restarted; tried Pmail - with same result as noted above!!
Next try updating IER to its latest version, URLs can be found in this post. But there's one thing I don't really understand: Why Firefox doesn't show up in the submenu of browsers installed on your system. This can IMO only happen if Firefox hasn't been installed properly so it doesn't show up in the proper Registry places. See here for Registry infos.

Many, if not most, of the time when I click on an area of an email which references

a URL it goes to the c:\windows\system32 folder. Right-clicking the area will give

me the choice of Google Chrome or IE (neither of which I use). In tools/options/hyperlinks

I have pointed to my firefox.exe.

What versions of Pegasus Mail and IERenderer do you use? Did you set Firefox as your default browser in Windows? Which version of Windows do you use? Did you install or update Pegasus Mail using its installer?

When viewing a message that has a link you want to click, key in Shift + 1 and note the info regarding either Bearhtml or IERenderer on the bottom of the display which render html formatted.

messages. If no info appears on the bottom of the display then you are not using a html renderer, but using the text message editor. In this case you need to make sure that the settings in Pegasus Mail menu Tools/Options/Incoming mail/Hyperlinks has defined a browser to use.  Also in Pegasus Mail menu Tools/Options/Incoming mail/Message Reader make sure you have checked the item "where a choice exists, choose Display Fancy"

Martin, if Windows Explorer shows up after clicking a link IER is involved no matter what.

Not sure what "click, Key in shift +1 means. If I click,  I get the system32 folder.

Pegasus vs. 4.72572, Win 10,

IIRC correctly, one of the solutions to the problem of URLs opening the system32 folder was to reset the default system browser.  This involves changing it to a browser other than what it is now, doing a system restart, then changing it back or selecting the browser you want as the system default.
