When Does a POP3 Rule Set Execute?
So, it seems as though the POP3 rule set is only executed at startup, or when the ‘Check the POP3 host for new mail’ button is pressed.
It is executed in all cases other than a manual selective check.

POP3 Scheduling Pmail V4.72.572

I have two mailboxes that I want to monitor.

I want to allow 5 minute checking for one, and 1 hour checking for the second.

The Settings I have used are :-

POP3 General
Check for new POP3 mail every 300 seconds (Idle Unchecked)
Check whenever the new mail folder is opened – Checked
Checking multiple identities (nothing checked)

POP3 A
Count messages when checking … - Unchecked
Delete mail on server ….. – Checked
Scheduling: Check no more than …… -- 0
NO Rule Set defined.

POP3 B
Count messages when checking … - Checked
Delete mail on server ….. – Unchecked
Scheduling: Check no more than …… -- 60
Rule Set Defined

When I start PMail, it checks both boxes, and executes the Rule Set that has been defined for POP3 B. After that, it correctly checks POP3 A, at the checking interval set up in the POP3 General Settings, and POP3 B at the 60 minute interval. However, the Rule Set defined for POP3 B is NOT executed.

To make it easier to see what was happening, I set the minimum check interval on POP3 B to 7 minutes. I could then see that the checking on occurs on POP3 A every 5 minutes, and checking on POP3 B occurs at the next general 5 minute interval after the 7 minute time has expired, but the Rule Set defined for POP3 B is NOT executed.

I then tried clicking on the ‘Check your POP3 host for new mail’ button. When the button is pressed, if the time since the last check on POP3 B is less than 7 minutes, only POP3 A is checked. If the button is pressed when the last time check on POP3 B is more than 7 minutes, then both boxes are checked AND the Rule Set defined for POP3 B IS executed.

So, it seems as though the POP3 rule set is only executed at startup, or when the ‘Check the POP3 host for new mail’ button is pressed.

Shouldn't a Rule Set execute at startup, at a manual check caused by pressing the ‘Check your POP3’ button AND at the next automatic general check after the minimum check period has expired?
