Catastrophic system failures have left Peggy really sick. Please Help me.

If you only have 21 mail folders, why not manually delete them?

Or

Right-click the mail folders you want to keep and make a note of the file name from Folder information. You only need the last 4 characters of the name before the extension.

Next, close Pegasus Mail and open and backup your mail folder, then sort it by name. All the FOL0**** .pmm and .pmi files will be listed. These are the 'folders' you see in Pegasus Mail. Delete the pmm and pmi pairs that do not share the same names you made a note of earlier. Start Pegasus Mail and see if the duplicate folders have been removed from the folder list.

I am in serious need of some help, please.  I've been using Pegasus since the mid-90s, so that is why I refuse to switch email clients, despite being on a mac.

Before I go any further, you must know that I am using Pegasus for Windows 4.72.572 and I am using a virtual machine, running Windows XP, just so that I can use Peggy. My mac is on it's third power supply and it's third logic board because it was shutting down without warning for the better part of 5 months.  Hopefully, Apple has finally fixed the hardware, but, I have a Pegasus mess, because the last time it failed, Peggy was open and the ugraceful shutdown left things fubar!

I have 21 mail folders that have been duplicated. I have tried deleting Hierarchy.pm but the duplications still exist.  As a matter of fact, I tried deleting most of the .pm files with no luck. I have tried so many things that I don't even remember all the things I've done.

I also looked into About/Info and see nothing unreasonable. The contents are included below...

There is no mac alternative to Pegasus and I have been using my iPhone and my isp's online excuse for a mail client. And I am anxious to get back to "normal" again.

Somebody has got to know a magic fix for this.  Please, somebody, have pity on me and please help me. Noone should be without a mailer this long.

One thing I forgot to mention... I have a PMail.ini and a Pmail.cfg in my home mailbox folder (last updated 2/9/2016); I found another in my new mail folder from last night; one in PMail root folder and a pmail.cfg both from 2/9/2016.  So it is hard for me to know which one I should have and which one I shouldn't have.

Also, a note about my mac's hardware issue.  Each time I've had parts of my machine replaced, I've also had to rebuild my entire machine from scratch.  So many of the things I've mentioned included dates that don't make sense for a long time user.  I've also had Virtual Machine issues that had me down for another 6 months, so this is really beginning to wear me down.
